Vision Fund Micro Finance Institution (S.C) was founded in accordance with proclamation No. 40/96 with the aim of offering financial support to economically marginalized individuals in Ethiopia, encompassing both rural and urban locales. Presently, Vision Fund serves communities across five Regional States of the country. Vision Fund MFI is presently in search of qualified individuals to assume the role of Manager for the Resource Mobilization and Customer Service Division at its headquarters. Candidates should ideally meet the outlined qualifications and possess relevant experience.

Position 1: Manager, Resource Mobilization and Customer Service Division

1. JOB SUMMARY

Reporting directly to the Resource Mobilization and Customer Service Director, the incumbent will be responsible for the planning, organization, coordination, and supervision of activities within the Resource Mobilization and Customer Service Division.

2. SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Plan, organize, coordinate, and supervise activities within the Resource Mobilization & Customer Service Department.

Lead financial literacy programs aimed at educating clients and potential customers on the benefits of saving and the institution’s value propositions.

Identify potential depositors, with a focus on high-volume depositors, and encourage various forms of saving.

Develop mechanisms to promote saving and enhance the liquidity leverage of the Institution.

Address challenges related to deposit mobilization and improve customer service delivery.

Provide technical/professional support to branches regarding deposit mobilization and overall departmental operations.

Conduct training for frontline staff based on identified needs and coordinate client orientation sessions on available savings products, with a special focus on value propositions.

Monitor and evaluate performance in accordance with policies and performance agreements.

Ensure the establishment of an effective and reliable risk management and internal control system to safeguard deposits by clients.

Monitor the weekly and monthly performance of Regional/Branches, compile data on savings, and prepare and submit regular reports, incorporating challenges encountered and recommendations for improvement.

Design a client exit survey tool to capture feedback from withdrawing clients and introduce appropriate policy and procedural changes.

Ensure compliance with the institution’s policies, procedures, and directives related to Deposit Mobilization & Customer Service issued by the National Bank of Ethiopia.

Conduct regular field visits to ensure compliance with savings mobilization policies and procedures, gather feedback from clients on saving service provisions, and verify Regional reports.

Ensure that the necessary human resources, support facilities, and services are provided to branches in accordance with established standards of the Institution.

Undertake similar activities as assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications, Skills, and Experience:

MBA/MA/BA degree in Banking & Finance, Economics, Management, Accounting, or a related field.

A minimum of seven/9 years of relevant work experience, with at least 3 years in a senior position.

TECHNICAL AND OTHER SKILLS:

Ability to provide leadership, communicate effectively, and promote a team approach to enhance staff commitment to effectively implement the Company’s Strategic Plan.

Demonstrated technical and managerial skills, sound judgment, and the ability to engage and work effectively with others at all levels.

Strong belief in teamwork and gender equality.

The ability and readiness to assume accountability along with a deeply ingrained sense of honesty and ethical conduct.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.

Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Location: Addis Ababa

Position 2: Regional Operation Director (for West Regional Office)

1. SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Planning and Implementation:

Plan, organize, coordinate, direct, and control operational activities and personnel of the regional office.

Prepare an action plan for the year regarding the operations of the regional office and its branches.

Monitor and control financial resources such as loan disbursement, savings, insurance, and loan collection of branches in accordance with VF MFI policies and procedures.

Ensure the healthiness of the loan portfolio through continuous follow-ups and monitoring activities.

Manage loan collateral documents and verify interest calculations on loans.

Maintain an adequate inventory of formats and ensure prompt customer service.

Chair the Loan Approving Committee of the regional office and approve loans within discretionary limits.

Inform relevant departments of decisions made by the regional office and/or Head Office regarding high loan amounts.

Staff Management:

Manage, supervise, lead, guide, and support staff under supervision.

Conduct all performance management tasks, encompassing performance planning, monitoring, and conducting annual performance evaluations for employees.

Maintain sound employee management of the regional office, focusing on motivation, training, and performance improvement.

Job Requirements:

MA/MBA/BA Degree in Economics/Accounting/Management/Banking/Cooperative/Agricultural Economics or related social sciences/business fields, with extensive experience in credit and ideally deposit operations.

At least 8/10 years of working experience, with a minimum of 3 years in a supervisory position in credit and savings operations or financial and business development institutions.

Clear understanding of the microfinance industry and experience.

Proficiency in Microsoft applications.

Local language skills are advantageous.

Good command of written and oral English ability is advantageous.
