Positive Action for Development (PAD) is a registered Ethiopian NGO dedicated to humanitarian and developmental work. Established on June 6, 2011, and registered under the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia Charities and Societies Agency (Registration Number: 2330), PAD is seeking qualified candidates for the following positions:
Position 1: Shelter and NFI Officer
Qualifications:
- BA or BSc degree in social sciences or related field
Experience:
- At least 3 years in emergency sectors with a focus on shelter and NFI
Skills and Attributes:
- Experience in emergency projects, specifically in shelter, NFI, and cash activities
- Proficiency in basic computer skills
- Strong communication and negotiation skills with government and other agencies
- Flexible, reliable, and culturally sensitive
- Ability to work in teams, isolated settings, and high-pressure environments
- Strong planning and report-writing skills
- Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Fluent in Amharic and English; knowledge of local languages is a plus
Position 2: Field Monitoring, Evaluation, and Reporting Officer
Qualifications:
- MSc or BSc in statistics, management, economics, or related field
Experience:
- At least 5 years in MEAL, preferably in humanitarian programs
Skills and Attributes:
- Strong analytical and strategic thinking
- Experience with statistical packages (SPSS, STATA) and GIS applications
- Knowledge of Office Package and Kobo tools
- Understanding of WASH and FSL programs
- Fluency in local language (written and verbal)
- Experience in MEAL learning and training
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, organizational, and multi-tasking skills
- Fluent in English
- Ability to work in insecure environments
Position 3: WASH Officer
Qualifications:
- BA/MSc in water supply, hydraulics engineering, geology, construction engineering, soil and water engineering, or related fields
Experience:
- Minimum 6 years in WASH facilities including site identification, design, and construction
Skills and Attributes:
- Knowledge of Office Package, GIS applications, and water scheme design software
- Fluency in local language (written and verbal)
- Experience in complex and volatile contexts
- Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
Position 4: Project Coordinator
Qualifications:
- BA/MSc in project management, rural development, agriculture economics, water supply, soil and water engineering, DVM, or related fields
Experience:
- At least 7 years of relevant experience, including 3 years in a managerial role, preferably in WASH and FSL projects within humanitarian or recovery contexts in Oromia and Amhara regions
Skills and Attributes:
- Fluency in local language (written and verbal)
- Experience in complex and volatile contexts
- Strong communication, interpersonal, organizational, and leadership skills
- Fluent in English
- Ability to manage insecure environments
