The Organization for Social Services, Health, and Development (OSSHD) is an indigenous Ethiopian charitable organization dedicated to addressing social health and development issues, particularly in hard-to-reach communities across Ethiopia.

Available Positions:

Position1 :GBV Protection Expert

  1. Requirements:
    • Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD degree in Social Work, Development Studies, Gender Studies, Psychology, or related fields.4 to 8 years of relevant experience, especially in humanitarian programs.
    Responsibilities:
    • Conduct thorough assessments to identify GBV needs, risks, and protection mechanisms within IDP and host communities.Create and implement GBV prevention and response strategies tailored to the needs and contexts of these communities.Provide technical support and capacity-building to local service providers, community leaders, and other stakeholders on GBV topics, using survivor-centered and trauma-informed approaches.Establish and enhance multi-sectoral GBV referral pathways to ensure coordinated and accessible services for survivors.Design and conduct GBV awareness campaigns, educational programs, and outreach initiatives for diverse groups.Perform safety audits and work with community members to identify and reduce GBV risks.Offer direct psychosocial support, case management, and access to specialized services for GBV survivors.Foster partnerships with government agencies, NGOs, and community-based organizations to strengthen the GBV prevention and response system.

Position2 :Branch Manager

  • Requirements:
    • Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Doctorate degree in Public Health, Nursing, Medicine, Social Work, or related fields.10 to 14 years of relevant experience, with at least 4 years in a supervisory role.
    Responsibilities:
    • Oversee and manage branch staff to ensure effective utilization of human, financial, and physical resources.
    • Organize and motivate the workforce to meet performance targets and maintain quality standards.
    • Participate in or support fundraising activities as necessary.
    • Liaise with government entities, donors, target communities, and coordinate local programs.
    • Develop schedules and processes to enhance staff efficiency and project success.
    • Monitor staff performance and address issues to achieve targets.
    • Manage the branch’s budget to ensure financial targets are met and controls comply with organizational and regulatory requirements.

Position 3: Project Officer

  • Requirements:
    • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Public Health, Nursing, Medicine, Social Work, or related fields.4 to 8 years of relevant work experience.
    Responsibilities:
    • Exhibit strong skills in project planning and management, task prioritization, and deadline management.Possess excellent communication, analytical, and report writing skills in English.Have a good grasp of basic computing and interpersonal skills for working with a multi-disciplinary team.Knowledge of participatory research, livestock management, community mobilization, market development, and project implementation.Be willing and enthusiastic about working with rural and vulnerable communities in remote areas.Proficient in MS Office and capable of planning and organizing both self and others.Manage a demanding workload flexibly and align with OSSHD’s objectives and humanitarian principles.Prepare and execute project plans, travel frequently to project areas, and mobilize stakeholders and communities.Submit field visit reports, and monthly and quarterly project reviews, including technical progress and financial reports.
