The Ministry of Finance is a critical institution in Ethiopia, responsible for fiscal policy, public finance, and external economic affairs.
The Integrated Financial Management Information System (IFMIS) is an initiative by the Federal Government of Ethiopia, facilitated through the Ministry of Finance. This comprehensive Public Financial Management system aims to enhance Public Financial Management and Property Administration. The IFMIS seeks to improve accountability, provide timely financial and property information, and ensure transparency across Federal Ministries, Agencies, Regions, City Administrations, Zones, and Woredas.
As part of the Expenditure Management Control Program (EMCP) under Public Financial Management reforms, the IFMIS is designed to boost efficiency, lower back-office costs, and standardize processes for shared services. It will enable the government to oversee its finances through a unified, integrated system.
