Established in 1979, MTI responds to emergencies by sending volunteer medical professionals and supplies, while also collaborating with partners on long-term health programs.

Position 1: Agronomist

Education, Licenses, & Certification:

  • Bachelor’s degree (BSc) or higher in Agronomy, Horticulture, Plant Science, or related fields.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in agricultural and livelihood activities, particularly in refugee and host community settings. INGO experience is a plus.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

Knowledge:

  • Familiarity with development and humanitarian issues.
  • Proficient in spoken and written Amharic and English.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and teamwork capabilities.
  • Ability to be flexible and adaptable in dynamic situations.

Position 2: Medical Officer

Education, Licenses, & Certification:

  • Medical Doctor (MD).

Experience:

  • At least 1 year of professional experience post-qualification.

Location: East Telemt Woreda (Fiyelwuha and Chachire Health Centers).

Position 3: Midwife

Education, Licenses, & Certification:

  • Bachelor’s degree (BSc) in Midwifery or equivalent, with a valid professional license.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 3 years of professional experience post-qualification. INGO experience in a humanitarian setting and MISP/BEMONC training are advantages.

Location: Metema.

Position 4: Senior Protection Officer – Prevention

Education, Licenses, & Certification:

  • Diploma with 6 years of experience or a First Degree with 4 years of experience in Social Work, Sociology, Public Health, Gender Studies, or related fields.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.

Experience:

  • At least 3 years of experience in Gender-Based Violence (GBV) or gender-related humanitarian work. Fieldwork and NGO experience are advantages.
  • Strong understanding of GBV and issues of violence against women.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Leadership, training, and supervision of PROTECTION field workers.
  • Ability to maintain composure and prioritize under pressure.
  • Professional attitude and team collaboration.
  • Fluent in English; local language knowledge is a plus.
  • Commitment to human rights and gender equality.

Location: Aftit, Metema.
