Vacancy at Chemonics International

Chemonics International is seeking qualified professionals for the USAID-funded Global Health Supply Chain – Procurement and Supply Management (GHSC-PSM) project. The GHSC-PSM initiative in Ethiopia is the primary mechanism through which USAID will procure and distribute health commodities, offer technical assistance to enhance supply chain management, and collaborate with international partners to support both global and local health programs.

Position 1: Closeout Specialist

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of four (4) years of experience in finance and/or operations, with a preference for experience in donor-funded projects and project closeout.
  • Familiarity with USAID policies, procedures, and systems is an advantage.
  • Field experience and demonstrated strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven leadership, adaptability, integrity, and a proactive, problem-solving mindset.
  • Proficiency in English (both written and spoken) is required.
  • Applicants must currently reside in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.

Position 2: Short-term Documentation Assistants

Qualifications:

  • A degree in accounting or a related field from a recognized institution.
  • At least five years of relevant experience in finance, preferably within USAID-funded programs or international NGOs.
  • Honest, reliable, hardworking, and professional demeanor.
  • Ability to communicate effectively across cultures.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with a diverse team, clients, and consultants.
  • Ability to work independently, take initiative, and meet deadlines with attention to detail and quality.
  • Strong command of English, both written and oral.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

Position 3: Short-term Import and Customs Clearance Manager

Qualifications:

  • A degree in supply chain, procurement, transportation, business administration, management, or a related field from a recognized institution.
  • A minimum of eight years of relevant experience with a bachelor’s degree or six years with a master’s degree.
  • Experience in shipping, freight logistics, customs, or procurement.
  • Knowledge of pharmaceuticals or laboratory commodities is preferred.
  • Strong coordination and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, Project, and PowerPoint.
  • Knowledge of USAID regulations and experience with international NGOs is preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work with a culturally diverse team.
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines with precision and quality.
  • Fluency in English and Amharic, including business terminology, is required.

Position 4: Consultant – Database Manager

Qualifications:

  • MSc or BSc in computer science, software engineering, or related fields with a minimum of five years of experience.
  • Expertise in database design and development, ensuring efficient data management.
  • Experience with MySQL, MS SQL Server (2014-2022), and other database technologies.
  • Proven skills in Microsoft Power BI, including data modeling, DAX, and visualizations.
  • Experience in data validation and quality control processes.
  • Familiarity with survey platforms like SurveyCTO, Kobo, ODK, and CommCare.
  • Knowledge of ETL processes and integrating survey data with visualization tools.
  • Proficiency in SQL for data extraction and optimization.
  • Experience in data modeling and database performance tuning.
  • Expertise in GIS tools and integration.
  • Strong understanding of web programming languages like PHP, JavaScript, and Laravel.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 (Outlook, Teams, Excel, SharePoint, OneDrive).
  • Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
