About Us:
One Planet International School, a premier educational institution in Addis Ababa, is owned by the Gail and Zelalem Amare family. Established in 2006 with a modest beginning of over 30 kindergarten students, the school has grown significantly and now serves approximately 550 students from Kindergarten through twelfth grade. After living in the United States, Zelalem and Gail Amare were driven by a desire to return to Africa and contribute to Ethiopia’s social and economic development.
Open Positions:
1. Teaching Positions (Primary and High School)
- Duration: Full-Time
- Subjects: Math, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, ICT, History, Geography, Business and Economics
Qualifications:
- A BA/BSc or BED degree from an accredited institution.
- Relevant teaching experience is required for all subjects.
- Candidates should be proactive, reliable, adaptable, and able to work under pressure.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and time management skills.
- Proficiency in English and Amharic, with strong writing and oral communication in both languages.
2. Students’ Scholarship Processes Facilitator
- Responsibilities:
- Manage the scholarship application and selection process.
- Keep current records of scholarship offerings, criteria, and recipients.
- Assist and guide students throughout the application process.
- Develop and enhance strategies for the scholarship process.
- Salary: Negotiable
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, Administration, or a related field.
- Experience in scholarship administration or student services preferred.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
3. Extra-Curricular Coordinator Assistant
- Responsibilities:
- Support the planning and execution of school events and activities.
- Collaborate with the Extra-Curricular Coordinator to align programs with the school’s goals.
- Engage with students, parents, and teachers to encourage participation in extra-curricular activities.
- Track student progress and attendance in extra-curricular programs.
- Provide administrative support for the Extra-Curricular Department.
- Salary: Negotiable
Qualifications:
- Passion for education and student development.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Experience in event planning or educational programs is an advantage.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team setting.
4. Music Arranger
- Responsibilities:
- Arrange music for school productions and media projects.
- Collaborate with music teachers and students to fulfill their musical vision.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to students in their musical development.
- Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a music arranger with a strong portfolio.
- Proficiency in music notation software such as Sibelius, Finale, or Dorico.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Passion for music education and fostering a love for music in students.
Bonus Points:
- Experience working with children and young adults.
- Knowledge of various musical genres and styles.
- Ability to play multiple instruments.
