Position: USAID Project Management Specialist (Humanitarian Assistance)

Qualifications and Experience Required:

Education: Candidates must possess a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree or its local equivalent from an accredited institution in fields such as International Development, International Affairs, Health, Social or Behavioral Sciences, or Management. Demonstrated expertise and comprehension of Humanitarian Assistance and/or Resilience approaches, interventions, as well as poverty and vulnerability scenarios in Ethiopia are essential. Successful candidates will exhibit technical and analytical proficiency in management, research, and analysis, along with social and professional judgment. They should also demonstrate effective interpersonal skills for interaction in cross-cultural and multi-level settings. A minimum of five (5) years of progressively responsible professional experience in Humanitarian Assistance, Resilience, or Experience in International Development is essential, including a minimum of two (2) years working with the US government, other multilateral or bilateral organizations, and/or non-governmental organizations (NGOs).

Salary Range: The salary range for this position is FSN – 11; with an annual compensation of $24,124 – $43,420, denominated in U.S. dollars but paid in Birr.

Work Location: The position is based at USAID/US Embassy Entoto Road.

Basic Functions:

The USAID Project Management Specialist (Humanitarian Assistance) plays a crucial role as a key member of the Office of Humanitarian Assistance (OHA), Humanitarian Programs Team. Responsibilities include providing technical leadership, strategic direction, and managing activities, as well as contributing to reporting for the Office of Humanitarian Assistance. Key functions encompass offering technical and strategic guidance on multi-sectoral humanitarian programs, acting as the activity manager for BHA awards, and monitoring BHA activities. The jobholder also represents USAID on technical working groups and contributes to annual reports.
