Position: Child Protection Specialist

Education:

  • Master’s degree in psychology, social work, human rights, public health, or a related field. A Master’s degree can be substituted with two additional years of relevant experience.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 8 years of professional experience in GBViE (Gender-Based Violence in Emergencies) prevention and response within humanitarian contexts, including work with UN agencies and/or NGOs.
  • Proven expertise in addressing violence against children.
  • In-depth knowledge and practical application of GBViE programming principles and IASC GBV Guidelines.
  • Experience managing large-scale donor-funded projects.
  • Strong skills in planning, project management, and budgeting.
  • Proven ability to coordinate with various stakeholders, including donors, governments, UN agencies, and NGOs.
  • Proficient in planning and conducting workshops and other capacity-building activities.
  • Ability to work independently and efficiently with multiple stakeholders in a dynamic environment.
  • Flexible and adaptable, capable of working both in team settings and independently, handling emerging issues effectively.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, able to interact effectively with diverse functions in a multicultural environment.
  • Strong analytical and writing skills.

Language Requirements:

  • Fluency in English, both written and oral.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, writing, and editorial skills in English.
  • Proficiency in an additional UN language is advantageous.
