Position 1: Junior Construction Engineer
Location: Dilla, SNNPR
Career Level: Junior Level (1+ – 2 years experience)
Specific Activities:
- Ensuring the maintenance of established wetlands to meet required standards.
- Monitoring the delivery of construction materials to the pulp hopper and connecting channel construction.
- Facilitating the preparation and delivery of vetiver grass from the source to the sites.
- Overseeing the progress and completion of vetiver grass plantation.
- Providing weekly status reports and setting objectives.
- Monitoring and inspecting all engineering activities for clients.
- Following up on excavation, leveling, trench preparation, topsoil preparation, soil bund, and V-cut replacement works.
- Supervising construction works and providing immediate feedback.
- Communicating with and guiding clients.
- Submitting weekly reports.
Expected Deliverables:
- Ensuring established wetlands and pulp hoppers meet required standards.
- Overseeing the establishment of 8 new wetlands.
- Following up on pulp hopper and connecting channel constructions.
Job Requirements:
Required Skills and Experience:
- Recent graduate with a BSc Degree or Diploma in Civil or Water Engineering.
- Minimum of one year of work experience.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word and Excel).
- Knowledge in environmental protection and wastewater management.
- Excellent technical capabilities to ensure high-quality output.
- Proficiency in Amharic and English.
Position 2: Business Advisor – Nespresso and CREW Program
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Delivering sustainability training to wet mill owners and staff.
- Assisting in the development of site-specific environmental plans.
- Monitoring client compliance against sustainability standards.
- Participating in external certification schemes.
- Conducting sustainability standards audits at wet mills and assisting in action plan development.
- Participating in wet mill assessments for wetland establishment.
- Providing technical support and supervision during wetland establishment and pulp hopper construction.
- Ensuring proper waste management and composting.
- Monitoring water consumption and providing training.
- Establishing relationships with government offices and stakeholders.
- Performing other assigned duties.
Job Requirements:
Required Skills & Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Protection, Agricultural Science, Business Management, or related fields (Masters preferred).
- Minimum of four years of professional experience, ideally in environmental protection, coffee processing, agriculture, or SME development. Preferred Skills:
- Experience in coffee processing and wet mill supply chain management is advantageous.
- Motorcycle riding license (for some positions).
- Affan Oromo language skills required for certain positions.
