SOS Children’s Villages Ethiopia is an international non-governmental organization and a member of the SOS Children’s Villages International Federation. Our mission in Ethiopia began in 1974 with the establishment of our first village in Mekelle, located in the northern region of the country. Since then, we have expanded our initiatives to various regions, addressing critical needs and partnering with relevant stakeholders to achieve sustainable positive outcomes for children and young people.

We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated individual to join our team as a Volunteer Face-to-Face Fundraiser. In this role, you will assist with our fundraising efforts through both direct interactions and digital platforms. You will also be instrumental in creating and designing engaging content to attract supporters and secure sponsorships and donations. Your skills in sales and event organization will be crucial in planning and executing successful fundraising events and campaigns.

Position: Volunteer Face-to-Face Fundraiser

Essential Qualifications:

  • Education: Level VI certificate or higher in Marketing Management, Management, Public Relations, Communications, or a related field.
  • Experience: Prior experience in fundraising, marketing (including telemarketing), or sales is preferred.

Responsibilities:

Face-to-Face Fundraising:

  • Engage with individuals and organizations to recruit long-term sponsors
  • Use sales skills to explore and pursue fundraising opportunities
  • Collaborate with team members to set up fundraising tables and marketing materials at canvassing locations
  • Represent the organization at various exhibitions

Digital Fundraising:

  • Develop persuasive content for social media, the website, and other promotional materials
  • Design attractive and engaging graphics and videos to support fundraising efforts

Event Planning and Organization:

  • Assist in planning and organizing fundraising events
  • Approach local businesses, organizations, and individuals for support with fundraising activities

Safeguarding Responsibilities:

  • Participate in training related to Child Safeguarding and Prevention of Sexual Misconduct to protect children, young people, program participants, and colleagues from abuse and exploitation
  • Report any incidents or allegations of abuse or misconduct immediately to the designated team
  • Ensure behavior aligns with the Sexual Misconduct Regulation, Child and Youth Safeguarding Policy, Code of Conduct, and other relevant regulations
  • Maintain vigilance against abuse, neglect, harassment, or exploitation in personal and professional contexts
