PurposeBlack, a novel endeavor inaugurated in May 2020 by a coalition of over 130 Black professionals, seeks to address the economic challenges confronting Black communities globally. The initiative is poised to launch its inaugural model in Ethiopia, presenting a significant opportunity for the nation and the broader African continent to play a pivotal role in a large-scale international venture that stands to benefit millions.
Position 1: Journalist
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Communications, or a related field
Demonstrated experience in journalism or content creation, particularly within the real estate domain
Proficiency in writing and editing, with meticulous attention to detail
Ability to work autonomously and adhere to deadlines
Familiarity with prevailing trends and best practices in the real estate industry
Key Responsibilities:
Researching and crafting articles on real estate trends, market analysis, and property listings
Conducting interviews with industry stakeholders, real estate professionals, and clientele
Generating compelling multimedia content encompassing videos, podcasts, and social media posts
Contributing to the formulation and implementation of content strategies
Location: Addis Ababa
Position 2: Experienced Video Editor
Requirements:
Proficiency in video editing software such as Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, or equivalent platforms
Demonstrated expertise in video editing techniques
Sound comprehension of visual storytelling principles
Ability to collaborate effectively within a dynamic work environment
Exceptional attention to detail and a passion for crafting engaging visual narratives
Key Responsibilities:
Editing and refining video content related to real estate listings, market trends, and industry segments
Collaborating with the content team to devise innovative concepts and storytelling approaches
Integrating music, graphics, and effects to produce high-quality video productions
Ensuring uniformity in branding and style across all video assets
