Position 1: Regional Technical Advisor, WASH Business Development


Job Overview:
We are seeking a highly motivated and results-driven professional to spearhead the growth and support of WASH markets. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies that enhance project supply chains, enabling the delivery of WASH products, services, and behaviors. This role also involves providing supervisory support and capacity building to WASH business partners, contributing to the expansion of market systems in alignment with the MBAWISH (Market Based Area Wide Inclusive Hygiene and Sanitation) program.

Key Responsibilities:

Drive the growth of WASH markets, including achieving sales targets and market penetration.
Conduct market intelligence to inform strategic decisions.
Develop business models and franchises, supporting enterprises in delivering branded services and products.
Represent the WASH project in regional engagements with stakeholders and local administrations.
Implement business growth and acceleration programs to expand access to sanitation and hygiene services.
Support and train entrepreneurs and partners in performance-based business models.
Facilitate capacity-building initiatives, including training in sales, marketing, and business acumen.
Identify financial access challenges for operators and coordinate with local financial institutions to address these gaps.
Engage with government and non-governmental partners to institutionalize Market-Based Sanitation and enhance collaboration.
Provide regular reports on program activities, highlighting lessons learned and scalability opportunities from a private sector perspective.
Contribute to the achievement of project performance targets.
Qualifications and Experience:

Master’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Economics, Public Health, Environmental Health, or a related field, with at least 6 years of relevant experience.
OR Bachelor’s degree in similar fields with 8 years of relevant experience.
Proven experience in business development, sales, and marketing.
Preferably experienced in designing and implementing sales and marketing programs, community mobilization, micro-enterprise development, and working with government and non-governmental partners.
Proficient in English and Amharic, with knowledge of regional languages being advantageous.
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
Willingness to be based in a regional office with extensive travel.

Contract Duration: Indefinite, contingent on performance and funding availability.

Position 2: Regional Technical Advisor, SBC and Marketing


Key Responsibilities:

Instill marketing discipline within the MBAWISH program design process.
Support the institutionalization of the Decision Intelligence (DQ ® sales) process in MBAWISH.
Provide technical support for creative and marketing strategies within the MBAWISH program.
Develop and implement tailored Social Behavior Change (SBC) strategies.
Collaborate with stakeholders to align SBC initiatives with organizational goals.
Create and execute marketing campaigns promoting sanitation, hygiene, and health behaviors.
Utilize various communication channels for outreach, including social media and community events.
Conduct formative research to understand community needs and behaviors related to sanitation and hygiene.
Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of SBC initiatives, recommending improvements.
Train and support local teams and partners in SBC principles and marketing techniques.
Qualifications and Experience:

Master’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Economics, Public Health, Environmental Health, or related fields with at least 6 years of experience.
OR Bachelor’s degree with 8 years of relevant experience.
Demonstrated experience in business development, sales, and marketing.
Strong understanding of behavior change theories and frameworks.
Proficient in data analysis and research-driven strategy development.

Position 3: Advisor, Research


Key Responsibilities:

Provide expert advice and support to research activities, including the formulation of research questions, study protocol preparation, and data analysis.
Build staff capacity in evidence generation and use.
Offer guidance on appropriate research methodologies and data collection techniques.
Collaborate on research needs, concept note development, and dissemination of program learning.
Ensure data quality and compliance with ethical standards.
Publish research findings in peer-reviewed journals and present at conferences.
Represent PSI in strategic partnerships and networks.
Qualifications and Experience:

Advanced degree in Public Health, Statistics, Epidemiology, Social Science, Development Studies, or related fields with at least 6 years of experience.
At least 5 years of experience conducting research in Ethiopia, with both qualitative and quantitative methodologies.
Proven track record of research publications and strong analytical skills.
Location: Addis Ababa

Contract Duration: Indefinite, contingent on performance and funding availability.

Position 4: Driver/Operations Assistant


Key Responsibilities:

Provide safe and professional transportation services, ensuring vehicle cleanliness and maintenance.
Accurately record vehicle movements and submit relevant documents promptly.
Assist passengers with loading and unloading materials as needed.
Adhere to national driving laws and PSI/E policies.
Assist with administrative tasks, including vehicle insurance and inspections.
Qualifications and Experience:

Diploma or 10th Grade completion with a 3rd Grade Driving License.
At least 2 years of experience as a driver.
Proficient in English and Amharic.
Location: Jigjiga

Contract Duration: Indefinite, contingent on performance and funding availability.
