Position 1: Climate Resilient Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (CR WASH) Monitoring and Evaluation Officer

Qualifications:

Master’s Degree or higher in Environmental Health, Water Resource Management, Water Engineering, Health Monitoring and Evaluation, Public Health, Economics, Agricultural Economics, Social Work, Development Studies, or related fields.

Experience & Competencies:

Substantial experience in monitoring and evaluating various governmental and/or non-governmental (bilateral and multilateral donor) funded projects.

Proficiency in designing, developing, and implementing Climate Resilient WASH programs.

Capability in preparing Activity Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning Plans (AMELP).

Excellent communication skills in both written and spoken English, along with strong analytical and reporting abilities.

Demonstrated organizational, interpersonal, and cross-cultural skills.

Familiarity with gender mainstreaming and environmental protection issues.

Experience in organizing training workshops on WASH interventions and preparing progress reports.

Specific experience in lowland areas, particularly in Afar.

Proficiency in utilizing, managing, and documenting WASH and climate-related data.

Ability to collaborate effectively with program stakeholders.

Location: Semera (mission office), Afar

Position 2: Accountant

Responsibilities:

Collect and organize budget requests from various PRIN main offices and Abrak Hospital, and contribute to the preparation of annual budgets.

Conduct cost studies and assist in establishing and maintaining appropriate cost allocation plans/costing systems to ensure cost-effectiveness and profitability.

Record and analyze costs of raw materials, spare parts, labor, overhead, and services to evaluate cost effectiveness and profitability.

Create journal entries and manage cost accounting records for different cost components.

Execute adjusting entries and rectify inaccuracies in periodic financial statements.

Monitor the proper utilization of approved capital and operational budgets and report findings to the immediate supervisor.

Conduct various cost analyses including standard cost trends, average pricing analysis, margin and cost ratio analysis, inventory control, and variance analysis.

Reconcile inventory items with store balance (bin card) and general accounts records.

Ensure all payment requisitions are supported by adequate documentation, correctly coded, and fully authorized in accordance with the organization’s financial guidelines before payment is made.

Assist in payroll preparation by providing relevant information.

Maintain office cash by ensuring secure custody and accurate record-keeping.

Maintain accurate filing of finance vouchers and records for future reference.

Education:

Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in accounting or finance

Experience:

5+ years of accounting experience

Knowledge, Skills, Competencies:

Proficient in tax laws and IFRS.

Strong financial analysis skills.

Capacity to elucidate financial processes to individuals without a background in finance.

Proficient in maintaining payroll records.

Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.

Excellent organizational and stress management abilities.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.

Abilities:

Attention to detail with high accuracy.

Highly organized with good quantitative skills.

Ability to prioritize tasks effectively.

Integrity and high ethical standards.

Ability to maintain confidentiality.

Ability to train and manage staff in financial management.

Ability to work with minimal supervision.

Location: Piasa Headquarters and Abrak Mothers and Children Hospital in Kality sub-city, Addis Ababa.
