Position 1: Child Protection Officer

About Plan International Ethiopia:

Job Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Sociology, Social Work, Psychology, Child Development, or related fields.

3-5 years of relevant experience in an INGO environment, encompassing both emergency and development programs.

Proficiency in Child Protection minimum standards and fundamental principles.

Desirable Skills:

Ability to deliver quality programs within designated timeframes and under stressful conditions.

Position 2: CMAM Assistant

Job Qualifications:

Diploma or Level IV in clinical Nursing, Midwifery, or Human Nutrition from a recognized nurse-training institute.

Minimum of three years of relevant experience.

Prior experience in an NGO setting is advantageous.

Desirable Skills:

Extensive experience in Maternal and Child Health service provision within government health systems.

Experience or professional connections in similar fields internationally.

Specialization in Inclusion or Social and gender norm change.

Familiarity with comprehensive Community-based Management of Acute Malnutrition (CMAM) and Infant and Young Child Feeding in Emergencies (IYCF-E) is beneficial.

Knowledge Requirements:

Position 3: Health and Nutrition Officer

Job Qualifications:

Bachelor of Science in Public Health, Nursing, Nutrition, or related fields.

3 to 5 years of relevant experience in an NGO environment, with involvement in planning and implementing both emergency and development programs, including at least 1 year at a supervisory level.

Desirable Skills:

In-depth knowledge and experience in health and nutrition programming in humanitarian contexts.

Familiarity with Maternal, Newborn, and Child Health (MNCH) activities in Emergency Settings.

Understanding of primary health care systems.

Flexibility and ability to work within a team structure, cope with stressful workloads, and manage limited resources.

Language Proficiency:

Excellent verbal and written English skills.

Knowledge of the local language is an asset.

Position 4: Nutrition Project Manager

Job Qualifications:

Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Nutrition, Public Health, or related fields.

Minimum of 7 years of experience, preferably in an NGO setting, with managerial experience including budget and team management.

Desirable Skills:

Demonstrated leadership skills, including influencing and advocacy.

Deep understanding and knowledge in managing emergency response projects/programs.

Awareness of early warning concepts, disaster risk management practices, and health/nutrition frameworks.

Understanding of Plan’s policies and procedures, adherence to SPHERE standards, compliance with the Red Cross/NGO Code of Conduct, and implementation of child rights programming.

Understanding of field-level realities of humanitarian NGO work.

Hands-on experience in Health and Nutrition Projects Management.

Knowledge of Food Security and Livelihoods (FSL), Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH), Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR), Cash Transfer Programming (CTP), Early Warning Systems (EWS), and Disaster Risk Management (DRM).

Understanding of government policies, strategies, guidelines, and operating procedures related to emergencies and disasters in the country, particularly in the Tigray Region.

Job Title: Technical Coordinator (Re-Advertisement)

Job Purpose:

The Technical Coordinator serves as the primary contact within the WWA structure for intervention areas in Mekelle and surrounding areas. Responsible for overseeing planned activities and managing human and material resources, the coordinator also cultivates partnerships with government, private, NGO, and other key stakeholders. Additionally, the coordinator represents WWA and Plan International at various coordination meetings, review sessions, and joint site visits.

Responsibilities:

Design, implement, and report on project activities according to established standards and quality.

Manage partnerships with government, community, industrial park, and other stakeholders.

Lead and coordinate the team for optimal performance.

Support workforce development, gender equality, and reproductive health initiatives.

Facilitate monitoring and evaluation efforts.

Ensure adherence to Safeguarding Children and Young People and Gender Equality and Inclusion policies.

Job Requirements:

Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Social Science, Business Management, Economics, or related fields.

Minimum 5 years of relevant experience managing projects, preferably with expertise in enterprise development, gender equality, SRHR, and private sector engagement.

Strong managerial experience, including team management and budget oversight.

Previous experience working with local governments and stakeholders.

Technical competence in areas relevant to the project’s objectives.

Familiarity with monitoring, evaluation, accountability, and learning concepts and practices.

Proficiency in computer skills and relevant software applications.
