Position 1: FCDO Regional Lead – Hawassa

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in education, public administration, international development, gender studies, or related fields. A Master’s degree is preferred.
  • At least 4-6 years of relevant experience, with a minimum of one year in a managerial role overseeing complex, large-scale projects at the regional level in Ethiopia or comparable contexts. Priority given to those with experience in education.
  • Proven leadership skills to guide technical staff and consortium partners effectively.
  • Experience in managing teams to deliver high-quality activities that meet program goals.
  • Ability to establish and maintain strong relationships with a wide range of stakeholders, including government bodies, civil society, and local communities.
  • Knowledge of the education system and socio-political context of Ethiopia, particularly at the regional level.
  • Previous experience working with Ethiopian government entities, especially in the education sector, is an asset.
  • Skilled in managing multiple tasks in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
  • Strong analytical abilities, with experience using data for informed decision-making and program adaptation.
  • Proficiency in both English and Amharic.

Position 2: FCDO Regional Lead – Addis Ababa

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in education, public administration, international development, gender studies, or a related field; Master’s preferred.
  • 4-6 years of relevant experience, including at least one year in a managerial position managing complex projects at the regional level in Ethiopia or similar contexts, with a preference for educational project experience.
  • Ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and coordinate with consortium partners.
  • Strong experience in team management to achieve high-quality results aligned with program objectives.
  • Proven ability to establish effective relationships with government, civil society, and community stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with Ethiopia’s education sector, political and cultural landscape, and regional operational contexts.
  • Experience collaborating with Ethiopian government agencies in the education sector is desirable.
  • Capable of managing multiple tasks in a fast-paced, complex environment.
  • Proficiency in data analysis for informed program adjustments.
  • Fluent in English, Amharic, and preferably Oromo.

Contract Length: 1 year, with possible extension

Position 3: FCDO Education Leadership Technical Lead

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in education, educational leadership, adult education, public administration, international development, gender studies, or related field; Master’s preferred.
  • 5-7 years of experience in education leadership, curriculum development, and teacher training, preferably in multilingual environments.
  • Demonstrated experience in designing and implementing school leadership training programs.
  • Strong understanding of gender-responsive leadership and effective instructional methods.
  • Proven ability to work in high-risk, complex environments and manage diverse stakeholder needs.
  • Skilled at multitasking in a high-paced environment.
  • Strong analytical and data-driven decision-making abilities.
  • Excellent communication skills to convey complex information persuasively.
  • Fluent in English and preferably Amharic.

Position 4: Field Officer – Bulehorra

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in WASH, education, electromechanical engineering, TVET development, rural development, or a related field.
  • At least 4 years of INGO experience, particularly in TVET and WASH projects, stakeholder management, youth engagement, MSME engagement, strategic planning, and government/partner communication.
  • Ability to work effectively under stress and maintain strong communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
  • Fluent in Amharic and English.
