Omo Bank New Job Vacancies

Omo Bank is inviting interested and qualified candidates to apply for the following positions.

Omo Microfinance is nearing its transformation into a bank, becoming the third microfinance institution to do so after Amhara and Oromia saving & credit institutions. Last week, the shareholders voted to change its name to Omo. Founded 25 years ago with an initial capital of half a million Birr and four branch offices, the institution now boasts total assets of 10.7 billion Birr and a paid-up capital of 1.9 billion Birr.

Omo is one of the five largest microfinance institutions in Ethiopia, alongside Amhara, Oromia, Addis, and Dedebit. These institutions account for 82.6% of the total capital, 90% of the savings, and 85.9% of the credit in the microfinance market. Last year, Omo mobilized over seven billion Birr in deposits, bringing its total deposits to 36 billion Birr.

Omo Bank is seeking qualified and competent applicants for the following vacant positions:

Position 1: Manager – Remittance and Forex Officer

Required Qualifications and Experience:

  • Education: MA/BA Degree in Banking & Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, Management, or related fields.
  • Experience: 8 to 10 years in international banking, with a minimum of 2 years serving as a Principal Remittance Officer or Head of Remittance and Forex.Knowledge of NGO transactions, Remittance Agents, Diaspora transactions, Exporter transactions, and relevant reporting is required.

Position 2: Manager – Trade Service and Correspondent Banking

Required Qualifications and Experience:

  • Education: MA/BA Degree in Banking & Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, Management, or related fields.
  • Experience: 8/10 years of international banking experience, including at least 2 years as a Principal Trade Service Officer (Import and Export) or Head of Trade Service. Knowledge of ESW, EFCARS, relevant reporting, NBE Directives, and international banking policies and procedures is required.

Position 3: Senior SWIFT Officer

Required Qualifications and Experience:

  • Education: BA Degree in Banking & Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, Management, or related fields.
  • Experience: 6 years of international banking experience, including at least 4 years in the SWIFT section, covering trade service, remittance, and incoming/outgoing SWIFT transactions.

Location: All positions are based at the Head Office in Addis Ababa.

Salary & Benefits: As per the Bank’s Salary Scale & Benefits Package
