Position 1: LFS Officer

Location: Shire, Ethiopia

Generic Responsibilities:

  • Adhere to NRC policies, tools, handbooks, and guidelines.
  • Implement delegated FSL project portfolios according to the action plan.
  • Prepare and develop status reports as required by management.
  • Ensure proper documentation and filing.

Generic Professional Competencies:

  • Bachelor’s degree in agriculture, agro-economy, economy, social sciences, development studies, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a Livelihood Officer in a humanitarian or recovery context.
  • Experience working in complex and risky environments.
  • Documented outcomes related to the responsibilities of the position.
  • Proficiency in English is mandatory.

Context/Specific Skills, Knowledge, and Experience:

  • Knowledge of the local context and area.
  • Experience with project start-ups and exits or similar scenarios.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

Position 2: HR & Administration Assistant

Location: Jigjiga, Ethiopia

Generic Responsibilities:

  • Ensure compliance with NRC policies and local labor laws in all procedures and processes.
  • Assist with the implementation of the support function portfolio in line with the action plan.
  • Provide support in recruitment processes, including advertising, application management, candidate invitations, organizing interview venues, and attendance.
  • Assist in implementing and training staff on NRC’s HR policies and procedures.

Professional Competencies:

  • BA in Human Resources Management, Management, or Business Administration.
  • Understanding of relevant Ethiopian labor laws and statutory requirements.
  • Minimum of 3 years of work experience in a related field.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Extensive knowledge of NGO operations and the humanitarian sector dynamics.
  • Strong personnel management skills.
  • Keen sense of compliance with policies and procedures.
  • Effective employer-employee contract negotiation skills.
