Position 1: Temporary Cashier/Storekeeper

Key Responsibilities:

  • Safeguard cash and fuel coupons.
  • Issue official receipts for all collections.
  • Deposit daily cash collections into the bank the following business day.
  • Record daily cash transactions and balance them with cash on hand.
  • Maintain the fuel coupon register, ensuring daily accuracy.
  • Prepare checks for authorized payments and process bank transfers.
  • Prepare daily bank accounts and cash balances.
  • Verify incoming items against specifications before acceptance.
  • Manage storage and issuance of items per organizational guidelines.

Qualifications:

  • Strong alignment with FH’s Christian values as outlined in The Heartbeat: our Values, Vision, and Purpose.
  • Effective communication skills with team members.
  • Physically fit to work in varying weather conditions.
  • Positive attitude conducive to a collaborative work environment.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of organizational information.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 2 years in a similar role, preferably in an NGO.

Education:

  • Diploma in Accounting.

Skills:

  • Proactive and self-initiated approach.
  • Proficient in computer use.
  • Enthusiasm for FH’s mission.

Languages:

  • Proficient in spoken and written English; knowledge of local language preferred.

Supervisory Role:

  • This position does not involve supervisory responsibilities.

Location: Ebinat, South Gonder, Amhara
Contract Duration: Temporary


Position 2: Temporary Finance and Admin Officer

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Payment Processing and Cash Management:
    • Verify payment documents before approval.
    • Timely request cash transfers from Head Office.
    • Ensure prompt deposit of local cash collections.
    • Prepare payroll and manage all related payments.
  2. Financial Reporting:
    • Reconcile monthly bank statements with financial records.
    • Record transactions accurately by account and fund category.
    • Prepare monthly financial summaries for project submission.
  3. Administrative Oversight:
    • Assist with staff recruitment for community positions.
    • Support project staff during monitoring visits.
    • Supervise office management, cleaning, and security.
  4. Internal Controls and Asset Management:
    • Monthly inventory and fixed asset checks.
    • Maintain accurate stock records and ensure adherence to internal controls.

Qualifications:

  • B.A. in Accounting, Finance, or related field from a recognized institution.
  • At least 3 years of experience in grants management within an NGO setting.

Other Requirements:

  • Basic computer proficiency is essential.
  • Fluent in English and knowledge of the local language.
