Established in 2006, First Consult has expanded its operations to include agriculture, manufacturing, and service sectors. Position 1: Database Specialist

Job Requirements:

  • Master’s degree or higher in computer science, economics, statistics, or a related field from an accredited institution.
  • At least 5 years of experience, including a minimum of 3 years with USAID compliance and reporting.
  • Familiarity with data collection platforms such as Kobo Toolbox and ODK.
  • Proficiency in statistical and data visualization software (STATA, SPSS, Power BI).
  • Demonstrated skills in planning, monitoring, evaluation, learning (MEL), program adaptation, inclusion, and budgeting.
  • Expertise in both quantitative and qualitative methodologies, operations research, data quality assessments, analysis, and presentation, with experience setting up and managing MEL systems.
  • Preferred: In-depth knowledge of and experience in the Ethiopian context.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, including issue identification with contractual implications and donor reporting.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a collaborative team player.
  • Professional fluency in English and Amharic required; proficiency in additional local languages is a plus.
  • Excellent computer skills, including advanced use of Microsoft Office applications.
  • Experience with mapping software (QGIS, ArcGIS, etc.).
  • This role is open to Ethiopian citizens.

Position 2: Admin and Procurement Officer

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in procurement, supply chain management, business administration, or a relevant social science from a recognized institution, with over 5 years of relevant experience, preferably in USAID-funded projects.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English and Amharic; additional local languages are a plus.
  • Strong understanding of USAID procurement procedures, HR functions, best practices, and Ethiopian Labor Law.
  • Experience in office administration and operations.
  • Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to handle complex or confidential matters with discretion.
  • Detail-oriented with the capability to work independently.

Position 3: Food System Transformation Officer [Hawassa and Oromia]

Job Requirements:

  • Master’s degree or higher in economics, business, or a related field from an accredited institution.
  • 5-8 years of experience with USAID compliance and reporting requirements.
  • Preferred: In-depth knowledge of and experience within the Ethiopian context.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to address contractual issues and ensure accurate donor reporting.
  • Good interpersonal skills and teamwork capabilities.
  • Ability to work independently and manage delegated responsibilities.
  • Strong technical and analytical skills with sound judgment.
  • Professional fluency in English and Amharic required; proficiency in additional local languages is a plus.
  • Excellent computer skills, with good proficiency in Microsoft Office.

Position 4: Driver – Hawassa

Job Requirements:

  • Valid automobile driving license.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience working on USAID-funded projects is required.
  • Completion of secondary school or a diploma preferred.
  • Ability to follow safety regulations and road laws.
  • Over 5 years of driving experience.
  • Basic proficiency in English and the local language of the region is required.

Skills Required:

  • Conflict resolution.
  • Adaptability.
