Position: Agronomy Associate-FC
Location: Northern Ethiopia (Jeweha – 2 positions, Ataye – 1 position)
Education Requirements:
- BSc Degree or College Diploma in Plant Science, Horticulture, Crop Production, or Agricultural Extension.
Work Experience:
- 2 years of experience for College Diploma holders.
- No experience required for BSc Degree holders in Agriculture or Agricultural Extension.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct awareness and motivational activities with farmers, register those interested in tobacco production, and ensure hectarage and production targets are met.
- Collaborate with farmers to establish a respectful extension system, ensuring they accept and implement agronomic advice.
- Coordinate and advise farmers on proper agricultural practices, demonstrating techniques when necessary, and ensure the implementation of improvement plans.
- Distribute necessary inputs such as seedlings and fertilizers to farmers.
- Organize the purchasing program, ensure proper leaf grading and handling, and confirm correct loading by farmers.
- Advise growers on ALP issues, perform observations and recordings, and maintain accurate records.
- Report abnormalities like diseases and pest outbreaks, support proper CPA application, and submit organized reports to the supervisor.
