In December 2023, the Government of Ethiopia and the World Bank Group signed a financial agreement for the Ethiopia Digital ID Project. This project is a USD 350 million, five-year initiative (2023-2029) aimed at supporting the rollout of Fayda, an inclusive and trusted digital foundational ID system, along with other digital public infrastructure.
Position 1: Procurement Advisor
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Marketing Management, Engineering, Procurement and Supplies Management, Accounting, Law, or related fields
- 8 years of progressively responsible experience in public procurement, particularly in projects financed by Multilateral financiers
- Knowledge of Government procurement rules and procedures
- Prior experience with World Bank-funded projects/programs
Position 2: Financial Advisor
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related fields
- Minimum of 6+ years of progressively responsible experience with a major company, government, or non-government institution
- Knowledge of Government financial procedures, including accounting systems like IFMIS and the World Bank’s Clients Connection
- Prior experience with World Bank-funded projects/programs
Position 3: Procurement Specialist to Support the Program Management Unit
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree or above in Marketing Management, Engineering, Law, Procurement and Supplies Management, Accounting, or related fields
- Minimum of 6 years of experience with a Master’s Degree as a practicing procurement specialist in Ethiopia or abroad (a mix of domestic and international experience is preferred)
- At least 4 years of experience with World Bank-funded projects/programs and knowledge of managing the STEP system of the World Bank
- Prior experience in IT procurement using the Bank’s system is an added advantage
- Experience in the competitive procurement of major consultancies, including preparation of tendering documents and managing the tendering process, with prior experience in procurement processing according to World Bank or other major international institutions being a definite plus
