Mercy Corps Vacancy Announcement

At Mercy Corps, we are a prominent global organization driven by the conviction that a better world is achievable. In times of disaster and hardship, spanning more than 40 countries, we collaborate to implement innovative solutions, enabling individuals to triumph over adversity and cultivate resilient communities. This commitment is enduring—now and into the future.

Since 2004, Mercy Corps has been active in Ethiopia, dedicated to propelling bold and transformative ideas. Through close collaboration with the government, private sector, and civil society, we aim to fortify the nation’s resilience. Our programs prioritize responsiveness to and influence from participants and stakeholders. Aligned with the unveiling of our global strategy, “Pathway to Possibility,” our Ethiopia office is set to operationalize a three-year strategy. The vision is to bolster the resilience of climate- and conflict-affected communities through market systems development, fostering improved livelihoods, access to food, and safe and clean water for thriving amidst crises. In Ethiopia, our strategy revolves around four outcome areas: 1) Improving and diversifying livelihoods, income, and assets for economically marginalized populations; 2) Ensuring sustainable access to safe, nutritious food for pastoralists, farmers, and households; 3) Building social cohesion and inclusive governance processes in crisis-affected communities; and 4) Facilitating equitable, sustained access to clean water and sanitation for domestic and productive use. Presently, our operations encompass six regional states: Afar, Gambella, Oromia, Somali, Amhara, and South Ethiopia.. Collaborating with a diverse array of donors, including the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), European Union, GAC, Hilton Foundation, United Nations (UN), JOA, Sweden, EKN, and other foundations, Mercy Corps Ethiopia empowers people to recover from crises, build better lives, and positively transform their communities.
