Meba Microfinance Institution S.C., currently in the formation phase, is a registered microfinance establishment under the supervision of the National Bank of Ethiopia (NBE). As we near completion of our preparatory phase, we are actively working towards meeting the requirements set forth by the NBE to commence full-fledged operations. Our headquarters will be located in Addis Ababa.

Position 1: Junior/Trainee Customer Service Officer

Job Description:

The Junior/Trainee Customer Service Officer is responsible for familiarizing themselves with the overall operations of the company and branch, gathering financial performance data from various sources, and identifying potential savers.

Key Responsibilities:

Acquaintance with company saving & credit guidelines and branch operations

Providing orientation to clients on savings and loan utilization

Identification of potential high-value depositors, institutions/groups, and individuals

Assisting in evaluating customer survey feedback implications

Coordinating client orientation regarding available savings products, emphasizing customer value propositions

Monitoring saving deposit and withdrawal recording, reconciling subsidiary ledgers monthly

Collecting data on savings and preparing monthly reports

Assisting in designing client exit survey tools to capture feedback for policy and procedural adjustments

Tracking dormant and inactive accounts, updating client passbook entries as required

Promoting company saving products effectively and conducting saving mobilization activities daily

Education:

BA Degree/College Diploma/TVET level 4 in Marketing/Management/Accounting or related fields

Experience:

No prior experience required, with at least two years in a similar position

Good knowledge of the microfinance industry

Understanding of company operation policies

Familiarity with banking and marketing management principles and practices

Proficiency in financial and marketing management concepts

Strong communication skills

Position 2: Branch Cashier I

Key Responsibilities:

Handling branch cash transactions efficiently

Maintaining accurate records of cash transactions and ensuring compliance with financial regulations

Providing basic customer service related to cash transactions

Assisting in branch operations as needed

Education:

BA Degree/College Diploma/TVET level 4 in Marketing/Management/Accounting or related fields

Experience:

No prior experience required, with at least one year in a similar position

Good knowledge of the microfinance industry

Basic understanding of accounting principles

Familiarity with records management

Basic computer skills

Position 3: Customer Service Officer I

Key Responsibilities:

Providing excellent customer service and support to clients

Assisting clients with their financial needs and inquiries

Understanding and promoting the company’s products and services

Participating in customer surveys and feedback analysis

Ensuring compliance with company policies and regulations

Education:

BA Degree/College Diploma/TVET level 4 in Marketing/Management/Accounting or related fields

Experience:

2-3 years of relevant experience, with at least two years in a similar position

Good knowledge of the microfinance industry

Understanding of company operation policies

Knowledge of banking and marketing management principles and practices

Strong communication skills

Position 4: Branch Accountant I

Key Responsibilities:

Managing branch financial transactions and records

Preparing financial reports and statements

Guaranteeing adherence to financial regulations and internal company protocols

Supporting financial analysis and budgeting procedures

Employing accounting software for efficient data handling and analysis

Education:

Bachelor’s Degree/College Diploma/Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) Level 4 in Accounting and Finance

2-3 years of relevant experience, with at least two years in a similar position

Good knowledge of the microfinance industry

Proficiency in financial analysis methods and techniques

Understanding of company financial policies and regulatory directives

Basic computer skills, including proficiency in Peachtree software

Position 5: Executive Secretary Cashier

Primary Duties:

Assist the Chief Executive Officer by providing administrative support.

Manage office correspondence and communication channels.

Organize and maintain files and documents efficiently.

Aid in the preparation of reports and presentations.

Fulfill cashier duties when required.

Education:

Bachelor’s Degree, College Diploma, or TVET Level 4 in Secretarial Science, Office Management, or a relevant field.

Experience:

Minimum of 3-4 years in secretarial positions, with at least two years in a similar capacity.

Strong understanding of office management principles and practices.

Proficient in business correspondence and report drafting.

Education:

Demonstrated ability to work effectively with teams

Experience in mobilizing funds and working with partners

Basic computer skills and excellent written and oral communication skills

Position 7: Marketing, Planning, and Business Development Officer

Education:

MA/B.A degree in Accounting and Finance and Business Administration field of studies

Experience:

2-4 years of relevant experience, with at least two years in a similar position

Proficiency in computer software such as SPSS, STATA, and project management tools

Reports to: Chief Executive Officer

Department/Service: Marketing, Planning, and Business Development

Position 8: Finance and Administration Manager

Key Responsibilities:

Overseeing financial management and administration functions

Developing and implementing financial strategies and policies

Leading and building cohesive teams

Ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements

Managing IT infrastructure and innovative programs

Education:

Minimum of first degree in BA/MBA/MA/MSc. in Accounting, Economics, Management, or related fields

Experience:

8-6 years of relevant experience, with at least three years in a managerial position

Strong understanding of microfinance industry and financial management

Reports to: Chief Executive Officer

Position 9: Operation Department Manager

Key Responsibilities:

Overseeing all aspects of operations within the department

Education:

Minimum of first degree in BA/MBA/MA/MSc. in Accounting, Economics, Management, or related fields

Experience:

8-6 years of relevant experience, with at least three years in a managerial position

Advanced knowledge of retail banking operations and compliance regulations
