K.Mikedem General Import and Export, alongside its affiliated companies (KKGW, KROTAJ, and PORCHLIGHT), seeks to fill the position of Junior Logistics Officer to manage overall import and export operations.
Our firm boasts over twenty years of prosperous engagement in the import and export industry in Ethiopia, specializing in exporting sesame, oilseeds, and spices. We uphold a core social responsibility ethos integrated into our business model and serve as a primary importer of home supply materials, particularly Media Electronics, from international sources.
Position: Junior Logistics Officer
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Logistics & Supply Chain Management from an accredited college/university
- Preferably experienced in import/export operations
- Proficient in Microsoft Word & Excel
- Strong verbal and written communication abilities
- Meticulous attention to accuracy and detail
Responsibilities:
- Prepare bank permits, invoices, and packing lists for import and export shipments.
- Maintain communication with logistic departments, airlines, banks, and governmental offices.
- Supervise all logistics and operations activities.
- Arrange sales contracts, shipment schedules, and documentation.
- Liaise with international buyers and suppliers regarding shipment schedules and statuses to ensure proper documentation and delivery.
- Coordinate with third-party logistics service providers.
- Audit freight costs and documentation.
- Ensure timely processing of all payments.
- Generate packing lists and update shipment information in databases.
- Organize both manual and electronic files.
- Monitor and facilitate repair orders and coordinate deliveries.
- Ensure timely delivery of documents to customers and airlines.
- Manage flight bookings and follow-up.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the department or organization.
- Assist sister companies and other departments as required.
- Prepare quarterly and annual work plans and report work progress weekly.
