Job Title: Junior Electrician

Qualifications:

Possession of a College Diploma, TVET 10+3 or 10+4, Level III or IV in electricity, electrical/electronic equipment servicing management, mechatronics & instrumentation servicing management, instrumentation & control servicing, electronic equipment servicing, or a related field of study.

No prior work experience required (zero years).

Skills Required:

Strong interpersonal skills.

Effective communication skills.

Proactive with a commitment to achieving positive outcomes.

Demonstrated ability to maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electrical equipment.

Responsibilities:

Under the guidance of the Engineering & Utility Unit Supervisor, the Junior Electrician will be responsible for the following duties:

Repairing, building, installing, troubleshooting, and maintaining regular electrical systems and equipment.

Establishing connections between wires and circuit breakers, transformers, or other elements.

Examining electrical systems, equipment, and components to detect hazards, defects, and the necessity for adjustments or repairs, while ensuring adherence to codes.

Disassembling motors, generators, and other equipment in readiness for the repair process.

Test electrical systems and continuity of circuits in wiring, equipment, and fixtures, using testing devices like ohmmeters, voltmeters, and oscilloscopes, ensuring compatibility and safety.

Use various tools and equipment, including power construction equipment, measuring devices, and testing equipment.

Establish ground connections and attach power cables to machinery, such as motors. Perform administrative responsibilities in business management, including maintaining records, preparing reports, and procuring supplies and equipment. Utilize ladders, scaffolds, and roofs to install, service, or repair electrical wiring, machinery, and fixtures. Identify and test faulty machinery, engaging in discussions about malfunctions with fellow facility personnel. Calibrate and fine-tune all electrical and electronic equipment in accordance with manufacturer specifications.

Troubleshoot motors, pumps, compressors, and other systems in the plant.

Place conduit (pipes or tubing) inside designated partitions, walls, or concealed areas, pulling insulated wires or cables through to complete circuits between boxes.

Perform other related activities as instructed by the supervisor.

Place of Assignment: Addis Ababa
