Operating throughout Ethiopia, encompassing both urban and rural locales, JSI strategically concentrates its efforts on the nation’s four most densely populated regions. Position 1: Accountant – Intern

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or business administration with a GPA of 3.5 or higher Experience:
  • Entry-level, no prior experience required

Job Description:

  • Collaborate effectively with colleagues from diverse cultural backgrounds
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and QuickBooks accounting software is essential
  • Fluency in both Amharic and English is imperative
  • Demonstrate autonomy, superb interpersonal skills, and adeptness in teamwork
  • Willingness to travel and operate in various implementation regions
  • Eagerness to familiarize oneself with diverse donor requirements and grant reporting
  • Strong networking and partnership-building abilities
  • Proficiency in multiple local languages is advantageous

Location: Addis Ababa

Position 2: Community Engagement Specialist

Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in health fields, Social Sciences, or related disciplines, with specialization or experience in community engagement and empowerment

Experience:

  • Over five years of proven technical and programmatic expertise in community engagement and empowerment

Requirements:

  • Familiarity with the Ethiopian Primary Health Care system, including the Community Health Program and community engagement initiatives
  • Demonstrated ability to provide technical assistance and capacity-building at the community level
  • Experience facilitating workshops and training sessions
  • Proficiency in English writing and communication; fluency in local languages preferred
  • Strong computer skills and self-directed work capabilities
  • Experience collaborating with local governments, civil society organizations, and senior government officials
