Website sos children's villages ethiopia

SOS Children’s Villages Ethiopia operates as part of the International Non-Governmental Organization and is affiliated with the SOS Children’s Villages International Federation. Our involvement in humanitarian efforts in Ethiopia commenced in 1974 with the establishment of our inaugural Village in Mekelle, located in the northern part of Ethiopia. Since then, we have extended our initiatives to various regions where urgent interventions are needed, aiming to collaborate with relevant stakeholders to achieve sustainable positive outcomes for children and young people.

Over the years, our scope has expanded significantly to address persistent challenges faced by Ethiopian children who have lost parental care or are at risk of doing so. We work closely with international donors, local authorities, and community-based organizations across seven program areas, aspiring to ensure that every child grows up in an environment of love, respect, and protection.
