PEP seeks a full-time Communications Officer to cover a one-year maternity leave, offering remote work flexibility.
Position Title: Communications Officer
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Communications, Mass Media, Journalism, Public Relations, or related fields.
- Preferred experience or training in science and/or policy communication.
- Minimum 5 years of relevant full-time work experience.
- Proficiency in spoken and written English; intermediate proficiency in written French.
- Strong editing, proofreading, and analytical skills, especially in making scientific research accessible.
- Proficiency in website CMS management, preferably with experience in Drupal.
- Proficiency in InDesign; familiarity with Adobe Creative Cloud suite is advantageous.
- Some experience in conference coordination.
- Demonstrated interpersonal skills, proactivity, and creative problem-solving abilities.
- Experience in policy research, international development, or related sectors preferred.
Responsibilities:
- Disseminate, promote, and democratize PEP outputs, findings, and activities across various platforms.
- Produce communications for and coordinate PEP events, including Annual Conferences.
- Manage and update the PEP website, including regular news publication.
- Coordinate and assist in creating social media content.
- Evaluate and edit PEP policy briefs.
- Support project teams in developing communication materials.
- Draft or proofread external PEP communications (excluding research papers).
- Assist in preparing funding proposals, particularly in content review and proofreading.
- Ensure consistent branding across all PEP outputs.
- Perform other relevant communications tasks as directed by the Director of Communications.
