About SIFA: The Skills Initiative for Africa (SIFA) is a program of the African Union Commission (AUC) and the African Union’s Development Agency-New Partnership for Africa’s Development (AUDA-NEPAD), supported by GIZ. SIFA promotes strategies and processes to enhance access to technical and vocational education and training (TVET) and skills development. The initiative addresses the skills mismatch, aiming to improve youth employability and entrepreneurship, thus ensuring sustainable and inclusive development across the continent.
Position: Intern
Required Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience:
- Degree in Communication and Knowledge Management, Graphical Layout, Communication Technologies, Rural Development & Agricultural Extension, or related fields.
- Completed degree.
- Internship experience with international development projects is an added advantage.
- Desirable experience in photography, video production, or impact story outlining.
Other Knowledge and Additional Competencies:
- Strong editorial skills.
- Fluent in English (both written and verbal).
- Excellent computer skills, particularly in MS Office applications (MS Teams, Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Innovative ideas for visual presentations and editing articles; graphic skills are an added asset.
- Knowledge of information systems.
- Team player, flexible, and able to work in multicultural settings.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Document key events of the project (e.g., workshops, field trips, training) in writing and visually (minute taking, photos).
- Share important project information about achievements, implementation, best practices, and lessons learned on relevant platforms (IDA/SharePoint, Atingi, GIC newsletter, SNRD network, etc.).
- Support the organization of anchoring workshops, hand-over ceremonies, and other key events promoting the project’s impact.
- Assist in the preparation of presentations, fact sheets, and other communication-related materials.
