Founded in 1984 and headquartered in Birmingham, UK, Islamic Relief is a global relief and development organization. Our mission encompasses responding to disasters and emergencies and fostering sustainable economic and social development in collaboration with local communities, irrespective of race, religion, or gender.
Since 2004, Islamic Relief Ethiopia (IRE) has been operational, with offices located in the Somali Regional State (Hargelle, Elkere, Bare, and Dekasuftu), Afar Regional State (Ewa and Gulina), Oromia Regional State (Borena, Chiro, and Meayso), and an additional office in Addis Ababa.
Position: Cashier/Accountant
Requirements:
- Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Accounting with a minimum of 2 or 3 years of relevant experience, respectively, in the humanitarian sector or with INGOs.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in the AX System.
- Interpersonal Skills: Strong ability to build positive relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written English skills.
- Organizational Skills: Strong planning and organizational abilities.
- Adaptability: Ability to manage complex and demanding workloads with flexibility.
- Commitment: Dedication to humanitarian principles and actions.
- Travel: Willingness to travel to field offices to assist teams in complying with donor regulations.
