The IRC has been operational in Ethiopia since 2000, initially responding to severe drought in the Somali region. Currently, the IRC supports Ethiopians and refugees across six regions, delivering emergency and development programs in health, water and sanitation, economic recovery and development (ERD), women’s protection and empowerment, education, child protection, and multi-sectoral emergency response.

Position: Recruitment Assistant

Educational Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related social fields.
  • Previous work or internship experience is preferred.
  • Excellent organizational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Strong communication skills for effective candidate interaction and team collaboration.
  • Familiarity with recruitment processes and best practices.
  • Keen attention to detail for accurate record-keeping and scheduling.

Role Summary: A Recruitment Assistant plays a crucial role in supporting the recruiting team. This includes coordinating hiring activities, scheduling interviews, screening resumes, maintaining candidate databases, assisting with onboarding processes, and handling administrative tasks to ensure a seamless hiring process.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate hiring activities: Organize recruitment efforts, including job postings, candidate sourcing, and initial assessments.
  • Administrative duties: Draft offer letters, prepare job advertisements, and maintain records.
  • Screen resumes and conduct initial phone screens: Evaluate candidate qualifications and suitability.
  • Schedule interviews: Manage interview calendars for hiring teams and candidates.
  • Assist interviewees onsite: Ensure a positive experience for candidates during in-person interviews.
  • Process background checks: Facilitate necessary pre-employment checks.
  • Maintain candidate database: Keep records organized and up-to-date.
