FSD Ethiopia 2024 Job Opening: Financial Market Pillar Lead
FSD Ethiopia is looking for a qualified individual to fill the permanent, full-time role of Financial Market Pillar Lead. This role will be pivotal in directing the design, execution, and oversight of FSD Ethiopia’s financial markets projects.
Position: Financial Market Pillar Lead
Responsibilities:
- Develop and oversee the strategy for the Financial Markets program, ensuring alignment with the pillar’s objectives.
- Design and implement targeted Financial Markets interventions.
- Create terms of reference for engaging external resources to aid in the execution of Financial Markets projects.
- Prepare proposals for review and approval by the CEO or Board as needed.
- Coordinate the pillar’s contributions to program development and execution, managing the pipeline and portfolio within Financial Markets.
- Manage and execute special projects within the Financial Markets Pillar, including preparatory, exploratory, or innovative initiatives.
- Provide backstopping support and overall management for specific Financial Markets projects.
- Develop resourcing plans and budgets for projects, including negotiating budgets with partners when necessary.
- Contribute to resource mobilization by creating detailed plans and budgets for funding proposals and assisting in securing funding.
- Work with the Procurement team to oversee procurement plans for projects, ensuring effective management of external resources.
- Collaborate with the gender team to design and implement gender-focused Financial Markets interventions aimed at addressing gender gaps and enhancing women’s participation.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Commerce, Accounting, or a related field.
- Professional certification in Project Management within the financial sector.
- Minimum of seven years of relevant experience in Economics, Business Administration, Banking and Finance, Development Studies, or a related field, including at least two years in a supervisory role.
- Experience with financial market environments or donor organizations.
- Proven project management skills with a successful track record.
- Progress towards certification in accounting (e.g., ACCA, CPA).

- Ability to implement and manage plans, programs, and budgets developed at a senior management level.
- Proficient in coordinating workflows, implementing plans, and adhering to standard operating procedures.
- Strong leadership, interpersonal, and people management skills.

- In-depth understanding of gender dynamics within financial ecosystems.
- Competency in formal presentations and writing complex reports and proposals.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and leadership skills.
