Position: Cashier/Storekeeper

  • Education: Diploma in Accounting
  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years in a similar role, preferably within an NGO setting
  • Duty Station: Assosa, Benishangul Gumuz
  • Contract Duration: Regular contract until December 2024
  • Application Deadline: June 13, 2024

Principal Responsibilities:

  • Safeguard cash and fuel coupons
  • Issue official receipts for all collections
  • Deposit daily cash collections into the bank on the next working day
  • Record and balance daily cash collections and payments
  • Maintain and balance a fuel coupon register daily
  • Prepare checks for authorized payments
  • Process bank transfers and check exchanges
  • Prepare daily bank accounts and cash balances
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by the supervisor
  • Verify the quantity, specifications, and appropriateness of incoming items before receiving
  • Receive and issue properties according to organizational rules and regulations
  • Store incoming items properly
  • Issue outgoing items from the store as per guidelines
  • Control bin and stock cards and maintain balance
  • Ensure the store is tidy at all times
  • Monitor items to be stocked out and report to the supervisor
  • Prepare periodic reports
  • Ensure adherence to the organization’s internal control system

  • Computer literacy
  • Enthusiasm for FH’s mission
  • Language: Proficiency in spoken and written English. Knowledge of the local language is preferred.

Supervisory Responsibility:

  • This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
