FAWE Ethiopia is a prominent organization dedicated to promoting gender equity and equality in education. We work closely with communities, schools, civil society, Non-Governmental Organizations, and ministries to develop and implement targeted programs that ensure equal educational opportunities for both girls and boys. Our mission is to create positive learning environments and enact policies that foster gender equality in education.


Position 1: Communication Associate

Requirements:

  • BA degree in Communications, Public Information, International Relations, Computer Science, English Language and Literature, Journalism/Mass Media/Communications, or related fields.

Main Duties:

  • Conduct daily communication activities, managing content on the organization’s website, Facebook, and other media pages.
  • Form and lead a communication and public-relations Technical Working Group (TWG) from members, establishing a dedicated communication and media unit.
  • Serve as the primary communication channel for organizational activities.
  • Facilitate networking, partnership building, and fundraising efforts.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with the media to enhance the organization’s image.
  • Produce newsletters, printed materials, audiovisual content such as case studies and success stories, and media reviews.
  • Actively participate in field visits, prepare reports, and document stories.
  • Manage internal and external communications.
  • Monitor and respond to media and public feedback on traditional and digital channels.
  • Record media coverage and measure the impact of publicity campaigns on audience engagement.
  • Develop and disseminate public relations materials to increase visibility among stakeholders and lawmakers.
  • Develop and review communication and public relation strategies/guidelines.

Position 2: Database Associate

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Sciences, MIS, or related field; graduate degree preferred.
  • Advanced Excel skills (e.g., pivot tables, functions).
  • Demonstrated information management skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and online platforms for data collection.
  • Strong organizational, data collection, and IT skills.
  • Functional oral and written English communication skills.
  • Excellent relationship management skills (both professional and personal).
  • Proven ability to multi-task in a calm and professional manner.
