The Ethiopian Roads Authority (ERA) is a governmental agency founded in 1951 in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. Operating under the Ministry of Works and Urban Development, ERA is tasked with the construction, monitoring, and maintenance of trunk and major link roads, as well as managing various infrastructure projects.
ERA has established five regional offices in Gondar, Shashemene, Dire Dawa, Jimma, and Alemgena to support its mission. The agency envisions becoming globally competitive, delivering high-quality roads to Ethiopia. Its goal is to provide a safe, reliable, and standardized road network that connects development areas and accelerates social and economic growth across the nation.
