Deutsche Stiftung Weltbevoelkerung (DSW) is an international development organization dedicated to addressing the needs and potential of the largest youth generation in history. In Ethiopia, DSW has been implementing youth-focused SRH programs, including those related to HIV/AIDS, gender, livelihoods, and related development areas. We are currently seeking a qualified and experienced Advocacy Officer for our project, “Expanding Access to Life-Changing Adolescent Sexual & Reproductive Health Care in Ethiopia (Youth for Health).”
Position: Advocacy Officer
Required Qualifications and Experience:
- MA/BA in Sociology, Communication, Population Studies, Public Health, Reproductive Health, or related social fields
- Proficient communication skills in both international and local languages
- Minimum of three years of active participation and service in adolescent and youth development and SRH activities
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- Serve as the focal point for youth health advocacy work, coordinating, facilitating, and supporting the implementation of the advocacy project
- Coordinate and execute advocacy campaigns targeting decision-makers at various levels, including parliamentarians, in collaboration with adolescent champions and partners
- Represent DSW at various advocacy events related to adolescent issues
- Collaborate closely with program, communication, and MELR teams in designing, implementing, and monitoring advocacy projects
- Ensure mobilization of domestic resources and engage partners on advocacy issues
Salary: Negotiable, based on the organization’s scale
Duty Station: Addis Ababa
