Deutsche Stiftung Weltbevoelkerung (DSW) is an international development organization dedicated to addressing the needs and potential of the largest youth generation in history. We strive to create demand for and access to health information, services, and supplies, ensuring their right to a brighter future. Our mission is driven by advocacy, capacity development, and family planning initiatives, empowering today’s youth to lead healthy and self-determined lives.

In Ethiopia, DSW has been implementing youth-focused SRH programs, including those related to HIV/AIDS, gender, livelihoods, and related development areas. We are currently seeking a qualified and experienced Advocacy Officer for our project, “Expanding Access to Life-Changing Adolescent Sexual & Reproductive Health Care in Ethiopia (Youth for Health).”

Position: Advocacy Officer

Required Qualifications and Experience:

  • MA/BA in Sociology, Communication, Population Studies, Public Health, Reproductive Health, or related social fields
  • Proficient communication skills in both international and local languages
  • Minimum of three years of active participation and service in adolescent and youth development and SRH activities

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the focal point for youth health advocacy work, coordinating, facilitating, and supporting the implementation of the advocacy project
  • Coordinate and execute advocacy campaigns targeting decision-makers at various levels, including parliamentarians, in collaboration with adolescent champions and partners
  • Represent DSW at various advocacy events related to adolescent issues
  • Collaborate closely with program, communication, and MELR teams in designing, implementing, and monitoring advocacy projects
  • Ensure mobilization of domestic resources and engage partners on advocacy issues

Salary: Negotiable, based on the organization’s scale

Duty Station: Addis Ababa
