Role Purpose:
Reporting to the Country Operations Manager for Operations and Aviation, this role entails managing the country operations department and implementing Global and SSA Operational Functional Direction through regular collaboration with Country Ops Managers & Supervisors, and where applicable, the Country SMT and Cluster Director/team. Key responsibilities include managing various country activities such as GSOP Compliance, Aviation Handling & Safety compliance, OCPM management, CRA compliance, Infrastructure and Fleet management, Security compliance, Service Quality Improvements, Health & Safety compliance, Employee engagement, CIS training support, DG Management, OJC & T, Talent Management, Project Management, and Brand Management.
Accountabilities:
Operations Management & Strategy
Contribute to the strategic direction and management of Country Operations and the Cluster & sub-regional operational strategy. Ensure compliance with Aviation handling & safety procedures and Security standards across all countries. Establish operating standards and procedures for cost-effective, superior customer service. Direct the preparation of operating budgets and proposals for investments in infrastructure, technology, etc. Drive improvement of operational processes and capabilities to maximize productivity. Specify and ensure achievement of Country service and quality targets. People and Performance Management
Assist in recruiting talent and developing operations leadership team members. Coordinate efforts to enhance customer service experiences and develop staff potential. Evaluate staff performance and propose development/promotion plans. Design and develop Operations architecture and performance targets. Financial & Projects
Develop yearly operations budget and monitor/control it monthly. Oversee operations budget at the country level. Decide on major operations projects within the country. Drive accurate creation and submission of Business Case Applications. Reporting and Analysis
Prepare frequent reports for Cluster & SSA Area office. Analyze customer inquiries, service requests, and complaints trends. Monitor Operations KPIs, standards, and reporting. Translate Operations trends into reports for Cluster and SSA Area office.
Expected Qualifications:
Post-graduate qualification in Management.
Experience required:
Minimum of 10 years in the Logistics and/or courier industry. 5 years of experience leading Operations teams.
