Position 1: Empowerment and Business Development Services (BDS) Provider

A) Education/Training Required:

  • Diploma in Economics, Business Administration, Sociology, or a related field. Desired:
  • Degree in Economics, Business Administration, Sociology, or a related field.

B) Experience Required:

  • 2 years of relevant work experience for diploma holders or 1 year for degree holders.

C) Technical Skills Required:

  • Proficiency in the local language.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong commitment to teamwork, gender equality, and sensitivity to HIV/AIDS.
  • Understanding of participatory approaches and sustainable development concepts.

D) Competencies:

  • Demonstrates respect, accountability, courage, and excellence.
  • Ability to manage stress and monitor information effectively.
  • Skillful in team building, interpersonal communication, coaching, problem-solving, planning, and organizing.

V) Contacts/Key Relationships The Empowerment and BDS Provider is expected to foster open relationships with the community, government counterparts, community-based organizations, supervisors, program managers, and other staff.

VI) Working Conditions The Empowerment and BDS Provider is primarily field-based, spending approximately 90% of their time where targets reside. This involves extensive travel on foot (75%) and standing for about 50% of training sessions.

Position 2: Administrative Assistant

Qualifications

  • 2 years of relevant work experience for diploma holders or 1 year for degree holders.
  • Minimum of 6 months of internship service in a care-related field.
  • NGO experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  1. Administrative Support (50%)
  • Greet and assist visitors, directing them to the appropriate office.
  • Provide proactive administrative support, including managing appointments and directing communications.
  • Handle correspondence and ensure timely dispatch and receipt.
  • Prepare documents such as circulars, memos, and reports.
  • Respond to basic inquiries and letters as directed.
  • Assist with translation between English and Amharic or other languages.
  • Coordinate with office administrator and storekeeper for equipment maintenance and supplies.
  • Manage telephone switchboard operations.

Position 3: Office Attendant

Qualifications

  • Basic understanding of work routines and ability to follow instructions.
  • Literacy skills for reading and writing.
  • Preferably completed primary education up to Grade 6.
  • Language skills as per job description requirements.

Responsibilities

  1. Cleaning Service
  • Ensure daily cleaning of the office and lavatory to maintain standards.
  • Dust and clean office furniture and equipment.
  • Launder office properties such as curtains and towels.
  • Handle office equipment and machines with care during cleaning.
  • Monitor and replenish tissue paper, soap, and cleaning materials.
  1. Messenger Service
  • Direct visitors to offices as instructed by the administrative assistant.
  • Deliver letters and documents between offices upon request.
