Position 1: Team Facilitator

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in peacebuilding, social development, communication, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in facilitating EORE or PBAM activities.
  • Over 2 years of work experience in Afar.
  • Proficiency in Afari and Tigrigna, with intermediate English skills.
  • Strong understanding of gender-related issues.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills for effective relationship-building at all levels.

Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate Explosive Ordnance Risk Education (EORE) sessions in communities.
  • Assist the Team Leader and Project Manager with EORE sessions, conveying crucial risk education and peacebuilding messages.
  • Maintain effective communication and engagement with community members.
  • Foster positive relationships to enhance education and awareness initiatives.
  • Address community concerns about explosive ordnance risks.
  • Collaborate with team members for a coordinated approach.
  • Participate in team meetings and training sessions.
  • Promote gender and ethnic diversity within EORE teams.
  • Encourage inclusion of explosive ordnance survivors and individuals with disabilities.
  • Provide regular updates and reports as needed.
  • Support other tasks as requested by the Team Leader.

Location: Afar and Tigray


Position 2: Project Manager

Qualifications:

  • Relevant Master’s degree.
  • At least 5 years of project management experience in the past 10 years, with 3 years in humanitarian, governance, or peacebuilding projects within the last 5 years.
  • Proficiency in written and spoken English, clearly indicated in the CV.
  • Experience in Ethiopia or similar environments is a plus. Project management certifications are advantageous.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with a commitment to humanitarian principles and rights-based approaches.
  • Understanding of gender-related issues.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills for effective relationship-building at all levels.

Responsibilities:

  1. Project Leadership: Provide strategic direction, ensuring alignment with objectives, timelines, and budget.
  2. Stakeholder Engagement: Maintain strong relationships with donors, local government, NGOs, media, and partners.
  3. Resource Mobilization: Secure necessary resources for the project.
  4. Team Management: Oversee recruitment, training, and management of project staff.
  5. Project Planning and Documentation: Develop and maintain a detailed project plan and documentation.
  6. Risk Assessment and Management: Identify and mitigate potential risks.
  7. Communication and Reporting: Maintain communication with stakeholders and prepare timely reports.
  8. Cultural, Conflict, and Gender Sensitivity: Ensure activities are culturally sensitive, conflict-aware, and gender-inclusive.
  9. Adaptability and Flexibility: Implement mechanisms for project adaptability.

Position 3: Team Leader

Qualifications:

  • At least 2 years of experience in a team leader/project manager role within the last 3 years.
  • Minimum of 1 year of recent experience in EORE or PBAM as a facilitator or trainer.
  • Fluency in English, Afari, and Tigrigna (written and spoken).
  • Experience working in Afar is an asset.
  • Strong understanding of gender-related issues.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills for effective relationship-building at all levels.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage a team of EORE facilitators.
  • Ensure the timely and effective deployment of EORE and PBAM sessions.
  • Monitor and assess the quality of sessions.
  • Plan and organize EORE sessions according to the implementation plan.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders for smooth session logistics.
  • Coordinate activities with the Project Manager.
  • Provide regular and comprehensive reports on outcomes and challenges.
