Action for Social Development and Environmental Protection Organization (ASDEPO) is an Ethiopian grassroots, non-governmental organization established in 2014. ASDEPO operates across all regional states of Ethiopia and is actively involved in various thematic areas of intervention.

Position 1: Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS) Facilitator

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology or Psychiatry.
  • Experience:
  • Minimum of three years of relevant experience.
  • Prior experience in the NGO sector is advantageous.
  • Desirable:
  • Experience in humanitarian assistance, particularly in IDP, Refugees, and host communities.
  • Profound understanding of Emergency Health Care Response systems, especially in Mobile Health and Nutrition Teams.

Required Language Skills:

  • Fluency in spoken and written local languages is advantageous.

Required Skills:

  • Effective communication skills.
  • Critical thinking ability.
  • Proficiency in patient care and assistance.

Location: Tselemt Woreda

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct awareness-raising sessions at centers and within communities, focusing on child development, mothering practices, mother and child interactions, and breastfeeding practices.
  • Participate in crafting key messages tailored to the context and target audience.
  • Explain MHPSS project objectives clearly and culturally adapt them as necessary.
  • Supervise the dissemination of project information and key messages by beneficiaries, providing support on awareness-raising methods and motivation.
  • Promote comprehensive care practices, including hygiene and infant & young child feeding practices.
  • Facilitate group discussions and support sessions on mental health, care practices, and psychosocial issues.
  • Organize stimulation activities for mothers and children based on beneficiaries’ needs.
  • Evaluate beneficiaries’ knowledge and skills before and after group sessions.
  • Provide individual support and counseling based on an adapted action plan and MHCP psychosocial approach.
  • Ensure follow-up and support for beneficiaries at the household level, involving family members when necessary.

Position 2: Mental Health and Nutrition Team (MHNT) Clinical Nurse

Requirements:

  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Clinical Nursing or Public Health.
  • Minimum three years of experience, with two years in maternal and child health and nutrition services in an HC/hospital setting.
  • Experience in CMAM programs and/or mobile health and nutrition is advantageous.
  • Mandatory experience in clinical settings, particularly in maternal and child health.

Location: Tselemt Woreda

Position 3: Health and Nutrition Coordinator

Qualifications:

  • MPH (Public Health, Nutrition).
  • Three or more years of experience in developing and implementing health and nutrition programs, preferably in a community or non-profit setting.
  • Strong knowledge of public health principles, nutrition guidelines, and health promotion strategies.
  • Familiarity with relevant regulations, policies, and guidelines related to health and nutrition programs.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement comprehensive health and nutrition programs addressing the needs of the target population.
  • Provide quality primary health care services through mobile health and nutrition modalities.
  • Ensure availability of necessary materials, supplies, and equipment for program activities.
  • Plan, organize, coordinate, and control all health and nutrition activities and project resources.
  • Assist in producing consolidated monthly, quarterly, and annual plans and reports.
  • Facilitate staff meetings, stakeholders review meetings, workshops, and trainings as required.

Position 4: WASH Officer

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., Civil Engineering, Hydraulics).
  • Strong technical knowledge of WASH interventions.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Experience:
  • Minimum 5 years for BSc holders and minimum 3 years for MSc holders in related fields.
  • NGO experience required.

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate WASH program activities to deliver services to beneficiaries.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders for the design and improvement of hygiene conditions and sanitation services.
  • Provide technical support to ASDEPO project staff on WASH interventions.
  • Develop hygiene promotion materials and methodologies.
  • Participate in WASH needs assessments and facility evaluations.

Position 5: MHNT Midwifery

Qualifications:

  • Degree in Midwifery with valid registration/practicing license.
  • Minimum three years of experience, with NGO experience preferred.
  • Experience in primary health care units and labor wards.

Responsibilities:

  • Enhance preventive health care at the community level, focusing on maternal and newborn health.
  • Provide family health services, including ANC, PNC, delivery, and essential newborn care.
  • Offer iron supplementation, TT vaccine, FP counseling, and contraceptives.
