Position 1: Human Resources Manager

Education and Experience:

  • Master’s Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of eight (8) years of experience as a Human Resources Manager or in a similar role, preferably within the conservation or non-profit sectors.

Job Description: The Human Resources Manager oversees all aspects of human resources practices and processes to support African Parks’ mission. This role is pivotal in attracting, developing, and retaining top talent while fostering a positive, inclusive, and productive work environment.

Main Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement human resources strategies aligned with organizational goals.
  • Manage recruitment and selection processes to attract qualified candidates committed to conservation.
  • Oversee employee relations, address grievances, and promote a positive workplace culture.
  • Ensure compliance with labor laws and regulations.
  • Develop, implement, and update HR policies and procedures to ensure legal compliance and promote equity and fairness.
  • Provide guidance to management and employees on HR policies and best practices.
  • Design and implement training and development programs to enhance employee skills and career growth.
  • Facilitate performance management processes, including appraisals and feedback.
  • Promote diversity, equity, and inclusion within the organization.

Position 2: Finance Manager

Education and Experience:

  • Master’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Minimum of nine (9) years’ experience in a similar role, with at least five (5) years in a related field.

Job Description: The Finance Manager plays a crucial role in planning, budgeting, and financial management to support African Parks’ operations. This position ensures financial compliance, efficient asset management, and accurate financial reporting.

Main Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Assist in planning, budgeting, and forecasting processes, ensuring compliance with policies and guidelines.
  • Monitor departmental budgets and recommend improvements.
  • Manage fixed asset inventory and depreciation in accordance with organizational policies.
  • Review and approve payroll processes to ensure compliance with statutory requirements.
  • Coordinate external audits, prepare financial statements, and respond to audit findings.
  • Maintain robust internal controls for financial accuracy and asset protection.

Position 3: Field Operations Manager

Job Requirements:

  • Relevant tertiary qualification in park operations, conservation, wildlife management, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of nine (9) years’ experience in operations management, including five (5) years in a managerial role.

Job Description: The Field Operations Manager oversees operational efficiency and support activities to meet African Parks’ objectives. This role coordinates park operations, facilities management, and program delivery while ensuring compliance with donor regulations.

Main Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Manage cost-effective park operations aligned with African Parks’ Business Plan.
  • Coordinate internal and external communications and operational support.
  • Ensure security and maintenance standards for housing, office, and warehouse facilities.
  • Support budget development and forecasting for park operations.
  • Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with operational plans.
  • Develop team capacity, clarify roles, and support career development.
  • Provide guidance, feedback, and accountability to team members.
