Job Description:
- Primary Responsibilities:
- Oversee all finance and administrative functions, including staff management, financial reporting, budget preparation, and implementation.
- Maintain accurate data in the general ledger and trial balances per AU financial rules and IPSAS.
- Main Functions:
- Manage budget, payments, accounting, procurement, human resources, and risk management.
- Support the preparation and implementation of programs from the Office’s strategic plan.
- Prepare reports, budgets, and work programs.
- Develop resource mobilization strategies with stakeholders.
- Manage and supervise employees, ensuring effective performance evaluations and HR management.
- Liaise with various AU Departments for coordination and alignment.
- Contribute to strategy, policy, and program development.
- Human Resource Management:
- Supervise employees, ensuring updated personnel data and handling grievances, performance reports, and benefits information.
- Draft and issue correspondences related to financial and administrative matters.
- Coordinate with AU Headquarters for staffing and contract management.
- Provide advice on HR management and administrative policies, and ensure compliance with AU regulations.
- Administration:
- Supervise procurement activities and maintain documentation.
- Administer the asset management system.
- Ensure effective office functioning and staff safety.
- Manage travel document issuance and supervise junior staff.
Academic Requirements and Relevant Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree:
- Business administration, finance, accounting, or related field.
- 10 years of experience in budgeting, payments, accounting, procurements, and human resources management.
- Master’s Degree:
- Business administration, finance, accounting, or related field.
- 7 years of experience in the same fields.
- Professional Qualification: CPA, CA, ACCA, CIMA, Expert Comptable or equivalent is an advantage.
- Skills:
- Practical experience in applying IPSAS.
- Experience with ERP systems like SAP.
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
Required Skills:

- Oversee Africa CDC facilities and main warehouse operations.
Academic Requirements and Relevant Experience:
- Master’s Degree:
- Materials Management, Logistics Management, Organizational Development, Engineering, Facilities, or Operations Management.
- 12 years of progressive experience with 7 years in management positions.
- Experience:
- Facilities and inventory management or logistics management in public or international organizations.
- Facilities management, engineering, or operations management.
- Certifications:
- Strategic Organizational Development, Project Management, Building Automation, and Engineering certifications are advantageous.
- Skills:
- Managerial skills, political tact, and supervisory abilities.
