Addis Ababa University’s School of Public Health – AAU is seeking qualified candidates for various positions within the Network for Oncology Research in Sub-Saharan Africa (NORA) consortium, funded by the German Government through its RHISSA Initiative. Position 1: AFCRN Project Administrator

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Advanced degree in Public Health (MPH) with at least 5 years of experience or a PhD with a strong background in managing non-communicable disease research projects.
  • Competency in understanding generic health system operations and the Ethiopian health system.
  • Demonstrated analytical skills and strategic thinking ability.
  • Proficiency in written and verbal English.
  • Prior experience with Addis Ababa University is advantageous.

Position 2: Communications and Public Relations Officer

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Master’s degree in Public Relations or Public Health (MPH) with a focus on Health Promotion and Health Communication, or related fields.
  • Minimum of two years of relevant work experience.
  • Fluency in written and verbal English.
  • Excellent communication skills in both local languages and English, including the ability to convey key information effectively.
  • Experience in providing training on operational issues related to research projects.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Previous or current experience with Addis Ababa University is beneficial.

Position 3: Accountant Officer

Essential Qualifications and Experiences:

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in accounting or similar fields from a recognized university.
  • Demonstrated expertise in accounting for large-scale or multiple projects, preferably in Ethiopian university contexts.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as an accountant for organizations with large-scale or multiple projects.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
  • Strong computer literacy including Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.
  • Strong administrative, communication, and organizational skills.

  • Ability to create a conducive working environment.
  • Ability to work with limited resources and under challenging circumstances.

Position 4: IT Officer

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Master’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related fields.
  • Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of two years of comparable job experience.
  • Commitment to project objectives.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a diverse team.
  • Experience in IT roles.
  • Fluency in English.
  • Excellent communication skills in both local languages and English.
  • Proficiency in computer programming, software, hardware, and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Previous or current experience with Addis Ababa University is advantageous.

Position 5: Program Manager

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Advanced degree in Public Health (MPH) with at least 5 years of experience or a PhD with a strong background in managing non-communicable disease research projects.
  • Fluency in English.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Previous or current experience with Addis Ababa University is beneficial.
