Position 1: Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEL) Officer
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in economics, development studies, project monitoring and evaluation, statistics, or a related discipline.
- 2-3 years of experience in monitoring, evaluation, and learning within development projects, ideally in the SME or manufacturing sector.
- Basic understanding of MEL methodologies, tools, and best practices.
- Proficiency in data analysis software (e.g., Excel) and knowledge of data visualization tools.
- Strong report writing and presentation skills.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Experience in capacity building and training is an advantage.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a diverse team environment.
- Fluency in English; knowledge of local languages is beneficial.
Competencies:
- Assist in developing and implementing the MEL framework in line with project goals and objectives.
- Help create indicators, data collection tools, and methodologies to measure project outputs, outcomes, and impacts.
- Conduct regular data collection and entry, ensuring data quality and integrity.
- Maintain and update the project’s MEL database.
- Support field visits to monitor MEL activities and verify data.
- Assist in analyzing quantitative and qualitative data to assess project performance and impact.
- Contribute to the preparation of timely MEL reports, including progress and evaluation reports and learning briefs.
- Implement mechanisms to gather stakeholder feedback for program improvements.
- Assist in training and supporting project staff and partners on MEL concepts, tools, and processes.
- Promote a culture of learning and continuous improvement within the project team.
- Help facilitate learning sessions, workshops, and reflection meetings to share findings and lessons learned.
- Assist in documenting and disseminating best practices, success stories, and key learnings to internal and external stakeholders.
Position 2: Field Accountant
Requirements:
- BA in accounting or a related field.
- At least 2 years of relevant field experience.
- Understanding of financial principles.
- Strong skills and experience working with donor-funded projects.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Advanced computer skills in MS Office programs, particularly Microsoft Excel.
- Effective verbal and written communication, multi-tasking, organizational, and prioritization skills.
- Excellent oral and written English skills; proficiency in English is preferred.
- Ability to work effectively with an ethnically diverse team in a sensitive environment.
Position 3: Sector Lead (Textile and Garment)
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in textile engineering, fashion design, business administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in the textile and garment industry, with a strong understanding of sector-specific challenges and opportunities in Ethiopia.
- Proven track record of successful project management and leadership, preferably in youth employment or SME development contexts.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain effective partnerships with diverse stakeholders.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a strategic capacity to identify innovative solutions to complex challenges.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the implementation and management of the EYWM project within the textile and garment sector.
- Develop and execute sector-specific strategies, fostering partnerships with key stakeholders to ensure the successful attainment of project objectives.
- Collaborate closely with the EYWM project team, EED, and other staff members to prepare reports, maintain project documentation, and liaise with stakeholders.
- Serve as a liaison between the project team, textile and garment businesses, governmental agencies, and other relevant stakeholders.
- Provide technical expertise, guidance, and leadership to ensure effective implementation of interventions aimed at creating employment opportunities, particularly for women and marginalized individuals.
- Develop and implement sector-specific strategies and action plans to promote job creation and sustainable growth within the textile and garment industry.
- Build and maintain strong partnerships with textile and garment businesses, industry associations, government agencies, and other stakeholders to leverage resources and expertise.
- Provide technical guidance and support to SMEs in the textile and garment sector, including capacity building, market access, and product development initiatives.
- Identify and assess sector-specific challenges and opportunities, conducting market analyses and feasibility studies as needed.
- Collaborate with the Gender and Safeguarding Specialist to ensure gender equality and safeguarding principles are integrated into all sector activities.
- Monitor and evaluate sector-specific interventions, track progress against targets, and prepare regular reports for project management and stakeholders.
- Develop a sectoral strategy and action plan aligned with project goals, focusing on improving the competitiveness, productivity, and sustainability of textile and garment enterprises.
- Conduct market assessments, value chain analyses, and stakeholder consultations to identify sector-specific challenges, opportunities, and priorities.
- Lead the development of sectoral work plans, budgets, and monitoring frameworks, ensuring integration with overall project objectives and timelines.
- Provide technical expertise and guidance on textile and garment production processes, technologies, and best practices to project teams, partners, and beneficiaries.
