ABAY TRADING PLC, a prominent player in agro-processing and exports, specializes in the production of traditional Ethiopian food items such as Kolo (Roasted Barley), BESO, GEBS, Bread, and Bread Crumbs. Utilizing automation for various processing tasks like roasting and color sorting, the company operates with a workforce of around 500 individuals, overseeing the manufacturing of over 30 different products.

Abays Trading PLC is currently seeking qualified candidates for several vacant positions:

Position 1: Environmental, Sanitation, and Hygiene Manager

Responsibilities:

Ensure the highest standards of sanitation and hygiene in all food processing facilities.

Enforce compliance with hygiene assurance policies on a daily basis.

Participate in hygiene audits across the manufacturing unit, conducting regular inspections.

Provide ongoing training and workshops for staff to maintain hygiene and sanitation standards.

Coordinate with relevant authorities for food safety inspections and certifications.

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Environmental and Sanitation Management, Food Science and Technology, or related field.

Minimum 2-4 years of experience as an ESH Manager in a food factory.

Certification as a Trained Food Hygiene Officer is advantageous.

Proficiency in HACCP/ISO 22000 standards.

Strong communication and problem-solving skills.

Position 2: Assistant General Services Manager

Responsibilities:

Assist in planning and implementing strategies for support services and transportation.

Oversee daily operations of general services.

Monitor progress towards goals on a weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.

Supervise and evaluate the performance of cleaning and security staff.

Recommend and support training programs.

Communicate with clients to assess their needs and adjust service positioning accordingly.

Requirements:

Proven experience as an Assistant General Services Manager or similar role.

Minimum 2-4 years of experience in a relevant field.

Familiarity with general service concepts and MS Office proficiency.

Strong leadership and organizational abilities.

Effective interpersonal and communication skills.

Flexibility to work in shifts.

Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or related field.

Position 3: Senior Accountant

Responsibilities:

Confirm, assign, record, and balance accounts payable and receivable.

Produce accurate accounting reports and analyze financial data.

Identify errors and suggest improvements in efficiency and spending.

Manage accounting assistants and bookkeepers.

Requirements:

Proven experience as a Financial Controller, Accounting Supervisor, or similar role.

Minimum 2-4 years of experience as a Senior Accountant.

In-depth knowledge of GAAP principles and accounting procedures.

Proficient in utilizing accounting software and possessing advanced expertise in MS Excel.

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.

Position 4: Production Supervisor

Responsibilities:

Set and communicate daily/weekly/monthly production goals.

Organize workflow and assign tasks to employees.

Oversee production output and ensure adherence to specifications.

Identify issues in performance and suggest improvements.

Requirements:

Demonstrated proficiency in overseeing production as a Production Supervisor or in a comparable capacity.

Minimum 2-4 years of experience in production supervision.

Knowledge of HACCP/ISO 22000 standards is a plus.

Strong organizational and leadership abilities.

Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or related field.

Position 5: Café Supervisor

Responsibilities:

Maintain knowledge of cafeteria menu offerings.

Ensure adherence to safety and sanitation policies in the cafeteria.

Provide support to staff during peak hours.

Responsible for efficient cafeteria management.

Requirements:

Strong attention to detail and customer service skills.

Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in culinary arts.

Knowledge of cooking, menu planning, and kitchen management.

Experience in leadership and employee management.

Position 6: Purchaser

Responsibilities:

Research potential vendors and negotiate contracts.

Track orders and ensure timely delivery.

Maintain updated records of purchases and inventory levels.

Requirements:

Demonstrated background in the capacity of a Purchasing Officer or in a comparable position.

Minimum 2-4 years of experience in purchasing.

Knowledge of supply chain procedures and negotiation skills.

Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Business Administration, or related field.

Position 7: Forklift Operator

Responsibilities:

Unload incoming materials and stack them as per instructions.

Move inventory to designated areas using forklifts.

Inspect machinery for maintenance needs and ensure safety compliance.

Requirements:

Proven experience as a forklift operator.

Valid certification and special driving license for forklift operation.

Strong physical condition and attention to detail.
