Position 1: DRM Community Systems Trainer

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree with 9 years of relevant experience, or Master’s Degree with 7 years of experience, or an equivalent mix of education and experience in international development, humanitarian assistance, food security, disaster management, data science, GIS, policy studies, weather forecasting, or related fields.
  • Proven experience in developing community and/or organizational capacity-building activities.
  • Demonstrated capability in supporting and executing community resilience initiatives.
  • Experience in fostering domestic-based DRM resource mobilization.
  • Background in designing and implementing community-based early warning systems.
  • Strong management, communication, and organizational skills, with an emphasis on attention to detail; must be adaptable and capable of handling multiple tasks simultaneously.

Position 2: Watch Center/Emergency Coordination Center (ECC) Specialist

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree with 9 years of experience or Master’s Degree with 7 years of experience in disaster management, emergency management, geography, data science, GIS, policy studies, weather forecasting, earth sciences, or a related field.
  • At least 7 years of experience in disaster response or emergency coordination, demonstrating a history of effective response management.
  • Comprehensive understanding of disaster risk management principles and practices, including relevant international standards and guidelines.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of collaborating with diverse stakeholders and working effectively in a multidisciplinary setting.
  • Proficiency in data analysis and visualization, with the ability to clearly interpret and present complex information.
  • Strong leadership abilities, with sound decision-making skills under pressure, and the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks.
  • Willingness to work irregular hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as required.
  • Fluent in English and Amharic, both verbally and in writing.
