Position 1: DRM Community Systems Trainer
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree with 9 years of relevant experience, or Master’s Degree with 7 years of experience, or an equivalent mix of education and experience in international development, humanitarian assistance, food security, disaster management, data science, GIS, policy studies, weather forecasting, or related fields.
- Proven experience in developing community and/or organizational capacity-building activities.
- Demonstrated capability in supporting and executing community resilience initiatives.
- Experience in fostering domestic-based DRM resource mobilization.
- Background in designing and implementing community-based early warning systems.
- Strong management, communication, and organizational skills, with an emphasis on attention to detail; must be adaptable and capable of handling multiple tasks simultaneously.
Position 2: Watch Center/Emergency Coordination Center (ECC) Specialist
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree with 9 years of experience or Master’s Degree with 7 years of experience in disaster management, emergency management, geography, data science, GIS, policy studies, weather forecasting, earth sciences, or a related field.
- At least 7 years of experience in disaster response or emergency coordination, demonstrating a history of effective response management.
- Comprehensive understanding of disaster risk management principles and practices, including relevant international standards and guidelines.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of collaborating with diverse stakeholders and working effectively in a multidisciplinary setting.
- Proficiency in data analysis and visualization, with the ability to clearly interpret and present complex information.
- Strong leadership abilities, with sound decision-making skills under pressure, and the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks.
- Willingness to work irregular hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as required.
- Fluent in English and Amharic, both verbally and in writing.
