Position 1: Youth Income and Financial Service Advisor

Qualifications (Know-How)

Education

  • Required: B.A. Degree in Economics, Finance, International Development, or a closely related field.
  • Desired: MA in Economics, Marketing, Business Administration, Cooperative Development, Agricultural Finance, or other relevant fields.

Experience

  • Required:
    • Minimum of 6 years of direct work experience in income generation, financial inclusion, microfinance operations, RuSACCO, VESA/VSLA, and youth livelihoods, including needs assessments, baseline surveys, and field program implementation.
    • Proven experience in project activities integration and sustainability management.
    • Proven experience working with a diverse team culture.
    • Experience in regular progress monitoring and delivering technical support to field teams, including in hard-to-reach areas.
    • At least 3 years of experience on USAID-funded Food Security/Livelihood Resilience programs/projects and familiarity with USAID deliverables.
  • Desired: Experience in NGO programs.

Technical Skills

  • Required:
    • Knowledge of income generation, youth economic development, and microfinance practices and operations.
    • Highly developed computer skills (Outlook, Word processing, database management).
    • Experience with MIS data management.
    • Data analysis skills.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication in English.
    • Strong belief in teamwork, gender equality, and participatory approaches to sustainable development.
  • Desired:
    • Training/workshop facilitation, smart planning, and quality report writing skills.
    • Ability to deliver under tight deadlines.

Competencies

Position 2: Project Officer

Qualifications (Know-How)

Education/Training

  • Required: BA degree in Gender, Law, Sociology, Social Work, Development Studies, Social Sciences, or related fields.
  • Desired: A Master’s degree in a related field is a plus.

Experience

  • Required:
    • 3-5 years of relevant experience with a first degree and a focus on youth entrepreneurship projects in urban settings.
    • Experience working with micro and small enterprises, gender empowerment, and financial inclusions.

Technical Skills

  • Required:
    • Proficiency in written and spoken English.
    • Computer proficiency.
    • Strong communication and report-writing skills.
    • Firm belief in teamwork, gender equality, and understanding of the economic and social needs of young women, participatory approaches, and sustainable development.

Qualifications (Know-How)

Education/Training

  • Required: BA degree in Accounting or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
  • Desired: Training in financial software, preferably PeopleSoft.

Experience

  • Required:
    • 1 year of relevant experience for a degree holder and 2 years for a diploma holder.
  • Desired: Experience in development-oriented NGOs.

Technical Skills

  • Required:
