Amref Health Africa in Ethiopia is seeking a Youth friendly Services & GESI Advisor to provide technical leadership and support for its USAID funded Integrated Youth Activity (IYA) in Ethiopia. The Advisor will serve as a lead contact person concerning gender and social inclusion related activities for the project and provides technical and expert support on youth friendly service interventions across kefeta’s service delivery points (SDPs). The candidate will provide technical oversight and support for IYA’s YFS, gender equality and social inclusion (GESI) work, integrating GESI across the Activity’s thematic areas and implementing partners.

Position 1: Youth-Friendly Services & Gender and Social Inclusion (GESI) Advisor

Role Summary: Amref Health Africa is seeking a Youth-Friendly Services & GESI Advisor to lead and support the IYA project, focusing on gender and social inclusion activities. The advisor will oversee the implementation of youth-friendly service interventions at Kefeta’s service delivery points (SDPs).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical guidance on youth-friendly health services including sexual and reproductive health, SGBV prevention, and mental health.
  • Develop and implement youth health programs such as peer education workshops and community engagement activities.
  • Standardize comprehensive SRH services and improve quality at Kefeta SDPs.
  • Ensure project management and staff adhere to core gender and inclusion principles.
  • Collaborate with the project team to integrate gender, youth, and social inclusion into all project activities.
  • Provide technical support and training to build capacity in integrating gender and social inclusion considerations.
  • Lead gender, youth, and social inclusion analysis and other learning studies.
  • Support the development of work plans and training materials with a focus on gender and social inclusion.
  • Conduct audits to ensure alignment with gender and social inclusion priorities.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Medicine, Public Health, Nursing, or related fields; Master’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in the NGO sector, with at least 5 years at a senior level in adolescent youth health, FP/SRH, gender, social inclusion, or youth programming.
  • In-depth knowledge of gender, youth, and social inclusion considerations in Ethiopia.
  • Experience with USAID-funded projects preferred.
  • Excellent training facilitation, written, and oral communication skills in English and Amharic.

Position 2: Finance and Admin Assistant

Organization: Amref Health Africa in Ethiopia

Location: Sidama

Role Summary: Amref Health Africa is seeking a Finance and Admin Assistant to handle financial and administrative tasks, ensuring compliance with organizational policies and government regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review financial documents for completeness, accuracy, and adherence to policies.
  • Verify and process payments for workshops and staff advances.
  • Manage vendor disbursements and ensure timely liquidation.
  • Handle statutory payments like WHT tax, income tax, and pensions.
  • Support administrative activities such as fleet management and contract management.
  • Encode withholding and purchase data on the ERCA website.
  • Prepare bank account reconciliations and JV’s for clearance.
  • Allocate common project office costs and prepare invoices for partners.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in financial and project management.
  • Strong interpersonal, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
