Position 1: Market Facilitation Specialist/Officer

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Management, Business Administration, Economics, Marketing Management, Public Health, or Environmental Health.
  • Four years of relevant experience in market development and health programs.

Key Competencies:

  • Experience in program management and business development.
  • Preferred experience in designing and implementing sales and marketing training programs, community mobilization, microenterprise development, and collaboration with governmental and non-governmental partners.
  • Excellent communication and leadership/management skills.
  • Proficiency in English and Amharic, both oral and written.
  • Knowledge of regional languages is a plus.

Responsibilities:

  • Represent the WASH project, liaising with local administration and stakeholders.
  • Develop and select WASH business entrepreneurs.
  • Provide on-the-job coaching and business development services to WASH businesses.
  • Implement business and sales models and provide related training.
  • Assess financial access needs and coordinate with local financing providers.
  • Foster coordination with relevant partners to scale up WASH business models.
  • Regularly report on program activities and share key lessons.
  • Support demand generation and marketing campaigns for WASH businesses.
  • Coach and support Business Facilitators in facilitating business, sales, and sales data recording.
  • Handle tasks related to WASH business development, market assessment, product development, and franchise model replication.

Position 2: Regional WASH Services Lead

Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Management, Business Administration, Marketing, Economics, or related fields with eight (8) years of demonstrated experience, including two (2) years at a managerial level in business development programs.
  • OR
  • Bachelor’s degree in the same fields with ten (10) years of demonstrated experience, including two (2) years at a managerial level in business development programs.

Key Competencies:

  • Experience in program management and business development.
  • Preferred experience in designing and implementing sales and marketing training programs, community mobilization, and microenterprise development.
  • Excellent communication and leadership/management skills.
  • Proficiency in English and Amharic, both oral and written.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop annual plans including work plans, procurement needs, and budgets.
  • Foster coordination and partnerships with private sector partners and stakeholders.
  • Lead citywide WASH business and investment plans, sanitation improvement plans, and water safety plans.
  • Improve engagement with private and public partners, identify barriers, and facilitate solutions.
  • Represent the project regionally, liaising with local administration and stakeholders.
  • Develop forecasts on WASH product needs, business inputs, and training needs.
  • Provide regular reporting on program activities and share key lessons.
  • Support the WASH technical team through evaluations, coaching, and feedback.
  • Oversee adherence to WASH business models, strategies, activity implementation, partnerships, and budget expenditures.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned by management or immediate supervisors.
